  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

My first thoughts I just told my parents, but this time, I'm only telling a few of my friends (4 so far.) I haven't told my parents or my best friend though, I'm going to tell a lot more soon though. 2 of the people I've told I know are also suicidal, and the 2 others are people who absolutely understand people killing themselves. The hardest people for me to tell are my best friend and my parents, which I think should be understandable.

I've tried talking about it on many occasions and have made it clear that I don't plan on going anytime soon but also don't think it's fair to expect me to live my whole life like this if it goes on for years and years more without any treatments helping my mental illness. There was no acceptance as I suppose it's too painful for family members of mine to accept and I'd like it if I wasn't in a situation that made it something they may have to accept. Nevertheless, I have made it clear that I plan on staying around for quite some time. I think the conversation would have went a lot worse if I said I was gonna go in the next 6 months or something like that.

There were moments of understanding but I can tell that the family members I've talked to about it keep snapping in and out of being able to understand where I'm coming from.

During some end of the world and doomday discussions over the years I've "joked" that it was time to eat my shotgun. My friends/roommates didn't take too kindly to that. If they knew how I had been few years back when I first moved in with them, they probably would have had me committed.

Not really. I think it's not a good idea since it might only cause distress and might cause more problems. Might just say it when ctb atleast they know it will be the last trip with no return hopefully.

I talked about it to two family members and I regret it. No one understands and they don't wanna hear about it. They know I'm physically ill so probably they know deep down I won't be alive much longer. I put some distance and not talking to them anymore. As for the rest of peopleike friends etc, I would expect same reactions as my family members so why would I bother. I won't tell anybody when the time comes, it will be a risky move if they decide to come and disrupt my plan.

I don't think I would want to tell peeps directly, but I would want to wish and advice them before doing it, I feel it's the right thing to do. You don't want to traumatize them... You want to say something positive last words that would remember for the rest of their lives.

Not told a suicide plan but ideation yes, and since I started opening up with my true feelings my friend rejected me and wanted to put 'boundaries' because was not ready to listen to me. I listened to her during the worst times while having myself bad times too and obviously I was just being used because listening someone is not easy. I ignored red flags at first and I have got someone not wanting to reciprocate what I was giving to her. When I asked if this is not friendship to you how do you call this relationship she said nothing, just saying pure non sense to confuse me. Had to cut off entirely for my self care.
True friends reciprocate your friendship and support you during your worst times, they do NOT shut you up becase they do not feel listening to you.
