And no. I like baking but I could never hand out what I make to people outside of family or their coworkers. People deserve better than baked goods made with my level of skill lol.

I laughed the first time I was "volunatrily" held against my will and the psychiatrist there told me that I wasn't happy because I wasn't allowing myself be happy. I wanted to punch her smug grin off her face.

I also (bitterly) laughed at myself because I was able to sneak in an MP3 player to listen to at night and that plan sort of backfired on me. I was still dealing with insomnia at the time but I pretended to be asleep during the nightly check-ups so they would leave me alone ASAP and I could go back to listening to music under my covers. I didn't realize that they were relaying my sleep routine to the psychiatrist.

When I told them I still had insomnia, they were like "Yeah, right. I was told you've been sleeping peacefully like a rock at night." Probably thought I was a pathological liar and that I was lying about my depression/suicidal ideation too I couldn't be like "ayo, you bastards would have taken away the only thing actually keeping me sane in here as my own freedom is treated as a privilege" and "I was just pretending to be asleep, you pompous prick."

Before finally getting discharged (after lying my ass off about how I suddenly felt like I wanted to get better and focus on school), I really wanted to tell her "just know that if I CTB, you played a part in pushing me to do it" but ofc I couldn't because of the consequences. It really hurts having to play the fool and choking back what you feel like you need to say.

She was insufferable. I almost lost it when one day she didn't come to our scheduled follow-up and so I couldn't get permission for "outside privileges" that day. We only got to go outside for like 15 minutes max (they always cut it short and it wasn't an everyday "privilege" so we were pretty much locked up like animals) in a small gated area with the other patients where you can walk in a circle or just relax on a bench. Because she never came to clear me, I was stuck inside. It honestly felt like she had done that on purpose with how insufferably smug she acted towards me.
