I have vaguely referred to a few people of having been to a forum with some like-minded people and had conversations... but I've never specifically mentioned this site's name.

Maybe if I knew someone troubled like I am who could benefit, I might share with that person... but I wouldn't generally share because publicity for this site isn't necessarily a good thing.

Not to anyone I know.

But I've sent it to plenty of randos on Reddit.

I really hope that I never give away this site's name for any reason. But I am becoming increasingly conflicted because my friend keeps referring to "checking out" before she gets older as if it's such an easy thing to do. I've tried to tell her it's not that easy. I'm getting to the point where I may tell her to look online and see how it's not that easy like I did . But besides, I would want my privacy on this site!

Not yet. Probably would never. Maybe I will refer to this site to some of my friends that already know about my ideations, but since they are kind of terminally online, they probably already heard about it.

Never. What if the person I tell this site about kills themself? I would feel guilty.

I never recommended it, I only found it through a German user on a network I followed.

I would feel happy that their pain has been ended, which is why I have shared the site with suicidal strangers online.

No, because thankfully I don't know anyone else who needs this forum.

It would depend on the person's motivation and their state of mind whether I'd recommend the site or not. In any case, not to strangers. People also have their own responsibilities, regardless of whether they're suicidal. And that includes seeking out information themselves instead of burdening someone else with it.

honestly that's kinda how i feel, well more like idk neutral i guess, as far as i see it everyone should have the right to do whatever they want to their own body including the right to end their own life if they desire, and if someone wants to do that and they think that's the only way to truly end their pain then more power to them, i'd rather they atleast like make the choice with all possible informstion available so they don't do it wrong and end up surviving but with even worse pain. i see this site kinda the same way as harm reduction services for drugs tbh

Exactly.

I steer people away from non-methods and lead them to SaSu where they can find the right information.

I couldn't.
I also know they would find a way to take it away from me if I told anyone I know about it, because they'd consider it a threat…

Don't know anyone personally that might need it. If I do recommend it to someone, it would probably be a random person online.

Cool Sakura pfp btw. It sounds silly but sometimes I wish I could live in the Fate verse lol.

I couldn't. One of my friend is in a similar boat to me, but I never felt I could share SaSu with him. A couple times he said he knows I probably visit a suicide forum and begged me to give him the address. I always told him to google it. He keeps bugging me about wanting to be in a suicide chatroom in the dark web or something, maybe just FOMO after watching too many Japanese films and anime. If I were ever actually in one myself, I'd share that experience instead, rather than pointing him toward SaSu tbh.

I almost did. Not in terms of- here's a place you can find suicide methods. More in terms of a friend was venting a lot and I thought they'd feel kind of suprised/ supported by how many people feel the same.

I suppose in all honesty, it was a selfish wish at the time because I also felt overloaded trying to cope with both their problems and mine.

I regretted it the moment I said it though because I then worried where it might actually end up. What if they decide on a method from here?

As it happens, they thought the whole thing sounded very suspicious and said they wouldn't risk joining such a place anyway. So- worry averted.

I think ideally- it's a place we should seek out individually. The act of doing that I'd say is an indication things have become sufficiently bad to be actually considering methods.

I'm not the one to judge/invalidate anybody's pain but don't forget that a large portion of suicides (especially amongst youth) are impulsive and avoidable. Trust me, I know someone aged 14 who OD'd because his crush didn't like him back. He's a well adjusted adult now and laughs at his idiocy whenever the attempt is brought up. Recommending SS to these people would cause unnecessary suffering for their families.

Two of my closest (maybe 3) know that I am on Sanctioned Suicide. They even know the name of the site and sometimes I tell them anecdotes of what happens on here. If sometthing occupies my mind I share it with them without filters. They support me that I am on here. And they are also pro-choice. They know I have a strong urge to communicate when I am suffering. And if I only had them, they would become overburdened pretty fast with my valve of self-hatred, pessimissm. So it is a win-win for us.

The people I refer to SaSu have posted about long-term suicidal ideation and/or problems. Someone who's been in physical or mental pain for a decade isn't being impulsive.

Makes sense. Although it can get difficult to judge people's circumstances when you're online.
