For me it was certain sexual (i wouldn't called it like that) content... I really hate some unhinged parts of internet for this, and also my morbid curiosity i had back in the days

At one point I wanted to try to desentisize myself and I watched some gruesome stuff. The worst ones are where helpless people are tortured. It made me incredibly angry at the time and I felt very sad for people who were on the receiving end. Like "three guys one hammer". It is unthinkable someone would do that to another random human "for fun". Jails are too cozy for these people, they should be tortured themselves but kept alive as long as possible.

I also kinda failed at watching surgeries. It always gets my mind into dark places. So I gave up shortly after.

Every person has its own limits and some are not worth crossing.

It's definitely hard to shock me at this point. But there was one video where this kid was locked in a room and he had been there for days. He was recorded while he was in there and he was telling himself that no one loved him and no one was going to feed him.

I think he was murdered by the father's boyfriend but, just hearing this child beg for basic necessities really threw me back. I don't know if I was traumatized by it but, I was getting flashbacks of hearing my sister and brother beg my father to stop.

Fuck every single person that hurts children. They all deserve to be cut into little fucking pieces over the span of however long they can be kept breathing.

There was a documentary on UK television some years ago called Malcolm and Barbara. It followed the couple as Malcom experienced dementia.
It was so bad, when they re-aired it some time later they edited some bits out. His wife stuck though him til the end despite him not knowing who she was and even abusing her.

I've seen worse snippets of graphic content than that but with a story behind it, it can hit a lot harder.

Well, at least it had a wholesome side of it.
What you can't say about deranged shit on the web...

Yeah there is some pretty horrid stuff that ends up on 4chan now and again. I once thought looking at some of the rekt threads would toughen me up but that wasn't the effect it had at all. The comments to some of the videos made it worse, some people think nothing of people being harmed by other people, they actually find it funny.

Even in low resolution it is hard to watch some stuff and I think it was pointless anyway.

I've seen quite a few suicides, the ones with guns were very unsettling. Seeing how much blood rushes out the head or how brain sticks the the inside of the skull like the inside of a pumpkin definitely traumatised me a little. Total different reaction to it compared to any Hollywood violence or gore. I wouldn't recommend watching them.

I watched a beheading video by accident 9 years ago. The pig-like screaming and the victims' faces never got out of my head.

I got access to Reddit in Year 7. This was when subreddits like r/WatchPeopleDie were at their peak. My friends and I were used to stupid shit like Meatspin by this point, but it really had me spiralling when I looked at gore for the first time on there after my friend showed me some mildly disturbing stuff. Ended up casually watching gore for a few years before realising how idiotic that was and knocking it off. By that point though, I think it'd permanently desensitized me and completely changed my personality (for the worse.)

Porn and gore are the worst things I was ever exposed to.

The depravity of human kind (including my own) really makes me wish we'd go extinct.

Yes- the documentary: 'The Final Race' about the terrible cruelty that goes on in the horse racing industry. If you want to go vegetarian and need motivation- watch this. Terrible scenes inside an abattoir. It was enough to make me research any animal wellfare incidents connected to my local supermarket chains and (of course) there were some- so- the next day and onwards, I stopped eating meat and fish.

Yeah I used to be into gore as a teen so I've seen some crazy shit. I also really like true crime so I've heard some traumatizing audio clips before

I've mostly gotten used to it, I've interacted with some genuinely horrible people. Gore really just makes me feel sad most of the time, rather than shocked. There was one thing that "got" me, some shock site with an unassuming link that had some pretty horrific stuff, with screaming playing in the background at max volume.

Porn, slaughterhouses (why I became vegetarian) and a few dead human bodies from news sites. Anything medical too.

I recommend everyone to watch real videos of murders, preferably in childhood, because this will erase illusions about the nature of life. Nature is a monster with bloody fangs and claws. When I was a child, I somehow got a video cassette like Faces of Death, recordings of real murders - for example, a live tied up pig is scorched with a blowtorch, it squeals, layers of meat come off layer by layer, but it still squeals. Or hunting for a living person, when he is caught, his penis is cut off and stuffed into his mouth, while he is still alive. After this, stories about how there is something good in life that is worth living, you perceive as the ravings of a madman.

For example, here is a video of Russian soldiers in beating a living man with a sledgehammer and cutting off his head. It's right one-on-one like David Attenborough's BBC wildlife documentaries.

Animals are friends not food

I was arguing with someone online, things weren't going their way so they posted gore. Dead African babies being cannibalized, people chopping their genitals off with power equipment. The worst one stuck with me though, some poor guy having his face removed with a blade. Half off it, including the nose and lips were missing at the time the recording started and his eyes were rolling around like he was on the verge off unconsciousness. Then the murderer put the blade through his chest and cut down, opening his chest cavity and you could see his beating organs. Fucking horrible and I haven't been able to forget it.

oh yes, i remember i was on the darknet for some reason (i was a curious child) and i somehow found a website full of gore and other stuff. One of the things that followed me a lot as a kiddo was a dude who got run over by a train. that was crazy. i dont remember too much of it (due to other trauma that messed with my memory) but i know that i wished i never saw that video. the worst part is though that i kept looking at such videos because i was curious

Not traumatized or shocked but more like, just distraught by it. I've seen shit that hasn't really left my mind, i used to be one of those bestgore losers as a preteen and i remember clicking on a video of someone being violent with literally babies like.. barely toddler aged children. Cant think about it without feeling upset and bothered so i think ill stop typing now.

Oh, yes, absolutely. Unfortunately, I grew up with the internet, saw some things on insecure, unmonitored sites that appear in my mind at the first mention of subjects like this. Google Hangout was a terrible place for it. I never should've been allowed on Chatzy. I think the ones that stick with me most are those involving animals. Seeing that kind of abuse can make it challenging to see the good in people, but I always come around to some story of an old man rescuing a puppy or a teacher adopting one of her homeless students. I've seen the best and worst of mankind on fairly equal terms.

Two things have sat with me.

1. A news report on a woman who froze to death and survived. They showed her body face first in the snow and flipped her over and her eyes…simply terrifying.

2. Not a gore video, but I was once in the real time chat feature here about a year ago as a 19 year old lady took SN. A person said "Smile for me" and that just fucked me up. It's silly, but to hear almost a sort of cat call like that in one's final moments made me leave for a few months and actually attempt recovery.
