I'm currently trying to get my affairs in order before I CTB, and in light of that, I'm also preparing for the aftermath.

Some of the things I'm working towards:
  • Getting a will together so everything under my name gets given to the right people
  • Preplanning and prepaying for my funeral arrangements
I'm making this thread to get some ideas for other things I ought to prepare. I realize it's not really necessary, since y'know, I'll be dead... but for me it's an extra layer of security to know that things will be taken cared of when I'm gone. The less I have to worry about by my appointed date, the less likely I'll get cold feet.

What things have you done to prepare for the aftermath of your CTB, if any?

It's really thoughtful of you that you are preparing for the aftermath.
I never thought about it. I used to be so desperate that i used to just attempt ctb. Though i failed miserably.
However, i ensured one thing, that i didn't try any method that'll leave me as a vegetable if it failed.
So there was no risk involved in case it failed

Nothing at all. Don't need a will as my money will go to my parents by default, which is exactly where I want it to go. I also don't want a funeral and am leaving behind a note stating so, so again, that's one less thing to think about.

I completely understand. In my case, I've had to personally handle multiple deaths while being suicidal myself, so I sorta just realized that I never wanna be a burden to the people I leave behind.

Interesting! I suppose "funeral arrangements" isn't the right term for me either, but it's what the death industry in my country calls it regardless of if I want the whole ceremony of it. I'm mostly just paying for the process of disposing my body, because in my country it isn't free except for specific circumstances, and I didn't wanna blindside people with that expense.

I should do that too! Thank you, this is something I hadn't considered :)

You are very wise and thoughtful to plan it properly without letting it be a burden on anyone else🫂❤️

My will, the goodbye letter and other documents are ready since one year. I'm trying to clean my apartment because it's very messy. But it takes me a lot of energy because of my disabilities.

I'm donating my corpse to science so maybe when they study my brain they can find a way to help people.
