I am an insomniac or at least identify as one. It's 3:30 am as I write this and I'm just not sleeping. Who else here is an insomniac and who also feels suicidal from this?

Yes. 15 years ago I made attempts due to insomnia. Seroquel and a steady job saved me. But sleep issues remained.
Now it's a symptom of much larger problems but I hope it's killing me. It certainly does make me want to die.

Thanks for replying and now I know I'm not alone. I have tried to attempt it before because of it but I didn't know what I was doing. I don't want to die but I don't want to not be sleeping.

I take sleeping pills since so many years now. I have severe sleep apnea too and I stopped the CPAP machine. It didn't work. I'm tired with or without the machine. But yes, sleeping issues can give you suicidal ideation because brain needs a lot of oxygen and rest. I stopped taking zolpidem for several months, but this the first heatwave here, I started to take it again. But last year, I was quite going crazy at nights so I prefere to take these pills, even if it's highly addictive.

I hope you'll find a solution. Sleeping pills are very affective but doctors don't like to prescribe it because of the probability f being addict.

I'm so sorry that you have insomnia because I know exactly the kind of misery it is. I have had a prescription for zolpidem for many years now and it does help me fall asleep. I don't use it much anymore because I was raped while on it but if you've never tried it maybe it can help.

Oh no, you're not alone at all... Just read theses statistics. It's one of the first health issues in the world.

Yes. Because insomnia killed my mental health, my body, and my relationship. It's more like a consequence of my life but insomnia add itself to the cause of ctb for me.

Was on the maximum legal dose of sertraline for a while. Fuck up my sleep schedule since. Heard somewhere that people with insomnia may be increasing chance of getting early onset alzheimer's as early as in their 30s. If I got that disease then I may qualify for euthanasia lmao. Very wishful thinking but who knows

I've been dealing with occasional insomnia for years and it's one of my main reasons to stop playing the game of life. To this point I heavily suspect that I've lost mental capacity due to it.

I had h to 3 months of 4 hour sleep nights and it made me jump off a bridge. No I'm disabled for life. I used a cpap machine and it caused it. I got the machine because I was snoring… but I could sleep 6-8 hours snoring so the cpap machine is why I jumped.

Imagine having BIND, akathisia, adnehonia on top of extreme insomnia. It's been a few months now. Hell and torment everyday. Burning limbs and feelings of chemical terror daily.

Worst part is these symptoms won't even qualify for MAID..

Hell 24/7

Very sorry to read this. That sounds horrific. The insomnia is a serious issue but added with the others would absolutely be hell.
