Has anyone made a CO generator or gulps machine?

I'm collecting the parts to try to make a GULPS CO generator. I like the idea of the simplicity of how it works.
I used to have that old video they showed of some Australian guy who made one with two glass jars and a water bath so the gas is washed of the acid droplets, and then you breathe the CO through tubing and a mask.

I would be interested in hearing from those who have made one. My questions are:
is it ok to use plastic jars instead of glass ones?
what kind of tubing did you use?
what kind of mask did you use?
Have you tested it out with the actual acids?

Carbon monoxide device. I forgot not everyone knows what this is. It was a device illustrated from an old PPH that you can make.

Indeed I quite favour making one.

I'll use glass for the reaction chamber. There are so many different types of plastic, some are resistant and some not.

You may find a very large coffee jar and a small condiment or pesto jar would suit your needs, you don't need to buy new jars.

For the water bath, buy 5l of distilled or deionised water, nice clean bottle rather than washing a chemical or detergent bottle. This is essential as it washes the CO of any Formic acid which would burn your throat and cools the gas.

Where do you plan to use it? CO can be lethal to other people if you're in a building. Athough the GULPS produces plenty of 100% CO to catch the bus it does actually finish reacting and become "safe" much quicker than charcoal.

I would need to find the source again but I read somewhere that GULPS peaks and dies in 30 mins (long after user would have died) whereas charcoal produces CO for several hours.

I plan to use Oxygen nasal prongs. You require CO concentration >1% to CTB, the GULPS produces 100% so no seal required, nasal prongs will be adequate.

Just buy oxygen tubing and prongs from eBay or Amazon.

I made one but tested only with water not the acids. Can't test it at home cause I live in apartment complex and co goes through walls Id have to buy the $300 Co meter and find a place to test it outside.

Hi how much sulphuric / formic acid do you plan on? Can't find the video. So prongs or face mask ok to use? Thanks
