Discussion Has anyone ever had a "dream" death since they were young?

Ive always wanted to die a specific way since i was younger.

When we started learning about space (i think 3rd grade maybe? I have terrible memory) i heavily fell inlove with the idea of black holes, they were so interesting to me and i always wanted to die by entering one.

It kind of became an obsession of mine, i would lay in bed at night listening to my parents arguing and imagining floating in space into a black hole.
I just wanted to know if anyones ever had the same sentiment but with a different way of dying, id feel a little crazy if it was just me xd

Oh my gosh, yes! I thought it was just me.
For some reason, I've always found so much peace with the idea of just stepping off of the planet and falling down into the abyss, just like I've always dreamt it. If you're confused, it's a bit like those dreams where you fall, and you wake up feeling like you actually fell into your bed.
I knew it wasn't possible, but it just sounded so peaceful. I still wish it was possible oddly enough.

I think this is exactly why it was so appealing to me too!! Im glad to know its not just me thinking stuff like this‍

Its really an interesting concept still, i guess because space is so unknown to us? I also wish it was possible so badly cause it seems like a cool way to go^^

Yeah, I've wanted to shoot myself in the head ever since I was about 14 years old. I'll never be able to though sadly, extremely tight gun laws in my country make it practically impossible.

Oh, I can relate to that a lot. It seems like we had that type of death fantasy(?) at similar ages, too.
I've never thought of actually going through with anything gun related, but I have thought about it and dreamt about it. I think it's because it seems like a fun and beautiful way to go out, kinda like painting!
Gun laws are so strange to me nowadays. It seems like most self-inflicted deaths by guns nowadays are accidental, which makes me a little jealous of those people somehow.. but it feels selfish to feel that way at the same time.

I always wanted to just sleep and then slowly and peacefully venture into non existence. Like, you know not even being aware i am dying. Unfortunately its not possible, so i have to go with alcohol poisoning and OD

but i dont wanna traumatize people so it just stays in the back of my head..unfortunately

I've always wanted to cut my carotid. I don't think I'm going to, but I've always been fascinated by it pumping away.

Ever since I learned of how Van Gogh and Kurt Cobain died (grew up in the 2000s and had unrestricted Internet access) I've always dreamed of dying by gunshot, but I live in the UK, and so it'll always be a dream method.
