I've done the preparatory meds three times (anti-emetic, paracetamol, propranolol (only the last time, it reduced heart-rate but not enough) and nexium) and each time my heartbeat was uncomfortable and the last two times it started happening sooner, before it was even time to take the SN. It causes such panic and discomfort that I know I won't be able to take the SN because it'll just be worse and I just want to sleep it off. I never said I had a high discomfort threshold.

I guess there's no literature on this because most people go through with it, but I want to know if this is normal? Also, does anyone know if benzos will put a damper on this symptom? It's the one thing that will stop me.

I think that B blocker had not been working yet. Your self-preservation instinct makes you nervous and to panic. I think you should also take some sedative maybe.

benzos will definitely help calm you down. I'm not that knowledgeable about all the meds but did you try them all together or individually? if you do it individually maybe you can find out which one is causing panic and discomfort but like ubamantus1 suggested it could also be your SI kicking in, knowing what's to come. also try posting on sn megathread where more experienced ppl can offer their input. Hope it works out
