Has anyone attempted inert gas and failed?

Wow. Judging by the lack of responses I'm guessing inert gas is definitely the way to go for me.

There are some people who claimed they've failed due to SI or some other problem... You have to search the forum to find their reports...

But, if done right, the method is very efficient.

As long as you overcome SI and you fall unconscious, then it's pretty much done.

I've seen some failures mentioned, but mainly due to not doing the method properly.

Some who used argon found it a bit suffocating at first when using a flowrate of 25 litres per minute, but felt ok when upping the gas flowrate to 25 litres per minute(15 litres per minute is recommended for Nitrogen, argon is a heavier gas):

Someone else sabatoged their attempt by trying to let in oxygen during the attempt:


Someone failed with Nitrogen and exit bag, and later suspected the cylinder didn't have a high enough purity:



Derek Humphry, who wrote Final Exit, said he heard of no failures from the hundreds of helium exit bag cases he came across:
