Suppose a person hangs themselves. They're standing on a ladder and have tied the noose tightly around their neck, with the knot placed at the back center of their neck. Then they slowly step down from the ladder and push it away. The fall is 40-50 cm.
The person hangs for 1.5 hours. Is the person 100% dead after being discovered? And if so, does anyone know what the body would look like after 1.5 hours of hanging? Would the skin already start to turn blue/purple, and what about the tongue?

It varies.
The blood will settle some in the lower extremities. Purple splotches.
Tongue may protude, may not.
Everything relaxes so you will look different. Use the bathroom first to reduce anything leaving after you die.
You should pass out in 3 to 10 seconds.
Your brain is damaged after 5 to 6 minutes. Not worth saving.
You are completely dead in 30 minutes. Even a machine will not keep you going.

Make sure you are alone for at least 30 minutes after to hang.
Not from when you start but from when you actually do it. Loiter time does not count.
Nobody wants the machine...

Thank you this is great. When I hang myself I will be hanging for 1,5 hours and that means I'll be dead. I was somehow worried maybe its si or whatever because i read from a case in india where a woman survived hanging after 4 hours and then while researching i read that it would be possible to survive a hanging even after longer times if the noose somehow loosens little bit but so much that there'll be little bit of blood and oxygen flow. Now I think in my case that will not be possible because before i hang there fully i will tighten the noose as much as possible

If you survive hanging after 4 hours, you really screwed it up. It would be difficult to replicate that without seeing a picture of her setup.
It is a very simple, time proven method.
I see threads where people combine methods.
Sometimes people deviate from the proven setup.
The only improvements are in rope and knots. A good anchor and sufficuent height are still needed. Gravity is the constant. It is about making gravity do the work.
