Hello. I was hoping to get some feedback for my method. I'm planning on partial suspension hanging from the guardrail of my loft bed. I'm 5"1 and about 115 pounds. The loft bed is heavy duty metal and can withstand 2000 pounds. I'm planning on tying a slipknot with 8 mm nylon climbing rope which can hold up to 3300 lbs. Do you have any feedback?

Rope sounds a little thin but workable, might just hurt more. You have everything you need but be warned, most people give up on partial. I'm one of em but I admit I have no courage to let the rope knock me out. Some others do, or else this would never work!

Agree with other response, 12mm is the perfect width IMO, I believe it's supposed to be about the width of your thumb

The rope is somewhat thin but it may work; it will penetrate deep into the neck because it is less thick than recommended to be a little more "comfortable" (between 10 and 14 mm), so it may hurt a little more.

I see you're short (like me), maybe you could use the highest bar on the bed rail to do Partial in a standing position* applying as much of your weight as possible.
Always test your entire setup beforehand. Tie the rope to your anchor point and hang from it with your hands, applying your full weight. Repeat this several times to ensure your materials are strong and nothing will break.

And for the ligature knot*, it's best to use the Arbor Knot* as it tightens itself when you apply your weight. So when you're suspended, it will close completely around your neck, exerting even and uninterrupted pressure.
(Don't use the Slipknot, since this is a fixed knot)
