I used to pass as cisgirl, I think?? I generally don't interact with normal society but I'm training for a job and its mostly white fucking rich students. so in the past 2 days I've gotten 1 she 2 they 2 he and its 10 am in the fucking morning.
...its really not that interesting. It's such old news that people suck but ouch.?.?. I love that this place I can say I'll kill myself literally this world wants me to kill myself. im fuuucking drowning around people who are like "if someone vents to me imma just say get a therapist"
yeah this was in real life not reddit or 4chan. This is the people I'm surrounded by.

So I was born male and consider myself male gender, although I'm very effeminate and gay. (I always wear baggy male clothing, often with rips in the clothing, however.) People often, like all the time, just refer to me as they when I am shopping. When in doubt, most liberals just says they.
With the 2 he responses, this has become a liberal/conservative/religious thing where people who are religious or conservative will always refer to a transwoman as he. I was at work and working remotely and there was one transwoman there who went by a female name, had clearly transitioned, had make up on always, wore blouses, etc. She had a feminine name like Shirley or Julie that was not ambiguous. And this person was in a different department, and in our department meeting a religious person referred to Julie as he, and I said "I'm pretty sure Julie prefers to go by she," as though it were perhaps a mistake, but I knew it wasn't.
Religious people are just assholes and morons. They believe in this deity that is perfect... and why would a perfect deity create transpeople? That seems like a pretty mean thing to do to someone... so religious people can't reconcile that, so their cognitive dissonance response is " No, our mythological books aren't fake, clearly the trans people are wrong." And so this wrong takes many forms: they think trans people are "mentally ill," they think trans people need "metal help," those are the frequent ones.
So, when males transition to females, often unless they transition incredibly young in life, it's the voice that sometimes gives it away, even with HRT and feminization surgeries, etc. Even with Kim Petras, who is an extremely good looking feminine transwoman, on rare occasions, from certain angles, someone might wonder, but out in public people if she's just walking down the street and not interacting with anyone, likely no one ever considers Kim Petras trans. But people sometimes can tell with transpeople. So what?
So what's happening, is you probably passed ever so slightly less than you originally thought, but you also probably pass more now than you realize and some people are just being political assholes. But also, some people saying "they" may genuinely not know. I saw one person at a store in the process of transitioning actually put a she/her nametag on and this is in a very liberal area, and had they not done that, I wouldn't have been sure, because their hair is somewhat short, and even with earings, there are so many genderqueer people now who don't identify as male or female that it's hard to know what people want.
I'm LGBT and pronouns can even be a headache for me, especially with they/them ones. Even I sometimes mess up. I just think that you probably shouldn't take this personally. There are some people out there who are into transwoman. You can always say "I prefer to be called she."
For me, as someone who considers myself "he," I don't always correct people, but sometimes I do. Sometimes people refer to me as she on the phone and I correct them. (I have a very effeminate voice and wish I sounded more masculine, despite being born male.) Sometimes I don't correct people. The whole thing is actually exhausting, I get that, but you could just tell people "I prefer to be called she, if that's okay with you." The religious people who are assholes will tell you "I'm not going to do that" and then, you just don't talk to that person anymore, they are some religious asshole. Everyone else should be nice, hopefully.
You probably look feminine and things haven't changed much and it's just the culture war has gotten that much more polarized.
