Discussion God should be seen as evil

I believe that the theological discourse needs to change. How can you consider God to be kind and merciful if he sends people to hell just because an ancient book wasn't enough to make them believe in him? There is no justification for things like eternal punishment and hellfire. And why did he create such a violent and dangerous world? If God exists, then he must be truly evil.

The christian God is the most immoral and sadistic tyrant of all imagined beings. It's only a kind of cognitive dissonance that allows someone to see it as a "caring and loving father".

This ia literally one of the most discussed theological questions out there. Not saying thete is a satisfactory answer but to implay that christians/ religious believers are all totally unaware of this dialectic is just infantilizing.

I think Muslims aren't as aware of it. And their version of hell is even more brutal than the Christian one.
