  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Absolutely not! The human condition is a cruel joke played upon itself. It would have been much better had we not descended from the trees in the first place.

Of course! I just LOVE living in a predatory cruel natural system! It's also a fantastic planet to raise a family on. Believe ME when I tell you, there is NOTHING better for children than a dog-eat-dog world. It's so good for them! It teaches them life skills, etc. I really could not possibly imagine a better world even if I tried!

No thanks, I wouldn't.
I an not a masochist.
Are we talking about our own lives or just the world as whole? Life outside our experience?

See I don't actually hate my life, or at least what's around me. The world, family etc. Literally Just myself and how I messed myself up.

I have mixed feelings about this question. Catch me on a day when I'm at the beach or swimming, or walking out in nature and definitely yes I would be glad to have been born.

Other days I definitely would have opted to skip it altogether.

Of course not. 99% people on here feel the same, otherwise we wouldn't be on SS in the first place if life was beautiful. Its a harsh world and reality in the end

Nope, the hedonic treadmill keeps us perptetually disatisfied, and most of us are forced to spend the majority of our time doing things we don't want to do, just to stay alive. When you add the overwhelming depths of feeling that suffering can subject you to, its just too risky and not worth it. Even if I had all my needs met, I would still suffer daily from social anxiety, depression, insomnia, existential angst, so even under the best of circumstances it would still be better if I had not been born at all.

That depends, had I known I was going to become myself with my shitty genes, no. If I had a chance to be anyone else... sure.

Absolutely not. No need to even give it any thought.

Wealth, beauty, love... none of those things change how life in general works. Pain and suffering is inescapable. Lack of meaning is still overwhelming. No achievement truly matters in the grand scheme of things. And death, often grueling, is still inevitable.

Never. I wish I was never born everyday. Life is the most meaningless, depressing, anxiety ridden hell and has been my whole life. It's like here, let's just be put here without consent and put all this shit on you that you didn't ask for and then make it super hard to ctb with SI and a whole list, I wish I could go back and not be born, but I will hopefully get to ctb soon enough and free myself of this hell I never asked for.

Absolutely not.

The circumstances I have been born into are remarkably lucky. I live in a liberal society in the Northern Hemisphere and I am relatively healthy. Whilst I may not be actively suicidal right now I feel that at some stage I will make use of the things I've acquired. I often wonder how I would have managed if I hadn't have been born into such privilege and feel slightly ashamed when I consider the plights of others compared to my own.
