Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I'm quite affraif of the possibility of surviving a suicide attempt with permanent damage. In order to make the chances of this happening as low as possible I've tought I should get a "do-not-resusicate" and/or "do-not-intubate" order.

I've tried to look into laws regarding the matter in Switzerland but couldn't find anything concrete. My german is also not too good :(

Could someone help me on what the process is to get a DNR-order here? Do I in all cases have to get the approval of my doctor or can I do it on my own? Thanks for the help in advance!

What country are you in? I'm kind of in the same place. I don't see any method that I know for sure will work that I have access to. If you are over 50 you can join EI - I don't know if its ok to say the full name (exit international) but I can't tell if they really have anything that is actually available to people now. Was about to post something about it then I saw your post.

go by dignitas.ch !
Patient's Instructions Also called Advance Directive, Advance Decisions to refuse treatment or Living Will. For the duration of their membership, DIGNITAS supplies its members with legally effective Patient's Instructions basing on Swiss law. These must be respected by doctors and hospital nursing staff.

I am already about to arrange accompanied suicide with them.
it wil be superb to leave with the gold standard nembutal.
good luck and all the best to you caliban

If you are found by paramedics or other emergency personnel, they are going to revive you/give you treatment regardless of whether you have 500 copies of your DNR around you and another tattooed on your body.

DNRs and advanced directives are for normal medical care and personnel. As in you are already in the hospital and happen to stop breathing and such.

The only way to avoid this is by not being found.

This case was in the uk so probably not that helpful. The woman had attempted suicide and called an ambulance she was taken to the hospital and refused treatment, she also had a living will. but I think the difference in this case she was conscious to refuse treatment and the doctors had to judge whether she had mental capacity.
