Full suspension

3 failed partial attempts doing it in a different way each time. So I guess full suspension it is. Please look at the pictures of my room and let me know best way to do a full sus. I want it to be as quick and painless ass possible. PLease provide whatever steps to make sure this is successful. I'm a little slow due to a suicide attempt when I was younger so I need diagrams and videos lol.

The only possible place I can find looking at the photos is the door.. But you'll need to make sure you're completely alone at home and have enough time.

Yeah you're good, it's called pull up frame, or standing pull up bar.

As for ligature, the general recommendation is a 12mm polyester rope, I got a 14mm one cause me fatass lol. It worked well when tested.

It depends on your ceiling. If there are wooden beams, you can use a wood screw with hook, diameter 8 mm.
If you have a concrete ceiling, you have to use a heavy duty dowel M8 and a eye nut.

Why not the top of the wall? That's nearly as high as the ceiling, but the force on the hook will be a shearing force, so it's safer.

Oh, I see that we are equally tall, 5ft1.. would be more o less 1.55 meters.

I like the idea of @kopebaldy the standing pull up bar looks good. If you are thinking of buying something like this, you can check how much weight it can support.

I it's time for me to start to learn knots. There are so many things a person needs to learn or find in this process I have a joist I think might work for an anchor point. I'd like to test it again a couple of times, but in the meantime..the knots I will need one knot for the anchor point...

Hmm. Well, from a strict engineering point of view, you're right that tensile strength is slightly higher, but that's mostly irrelevant here since the shear strength of a decent screw or bolt will still be way higher than what we need. The problem with relying on tensile strength is that it takes a lot more skill to install a screw in a way that safely holds against a tensile force. On the other hand, when it comes to shear forces, it will most likely hold as long as it's in the hole – there's less room for error.

So, you're not wrong, but that was my line of thought, and I don't think I'm completely wrong either.

Anyway, I feel like it's starting to spiral into overcomplicating things. Someone who's confident enough to use power tools to do this can probably do it well enough either way.

Then again, this room looks pretty American (judging from the door) so the walls might not be made of anything sturdy like stone or concrete anyway. I have no idea.

About mounting ceiling hooks...

I remembered this type of ceiling hooks used for acrobatic practices. There are several types depending on the surface where they will be placed.



They are strong as they support the weight of a person in constant motion doing pirouettes in all kinds of positions while suspended in the air (like Aerial Silks)

That´s the point, ceilings are designed to take high vertical loads and walls are not designed to take high horizontal loads, because they are normally not made of concrete but of hollow brics. The bolts that hold your pull-up bar have to take horizontal forces whereas your weight is transmitted to the wall by friction. So you trust with your life that the upper bolts hold the pulling horizontal force.
