Im using rope of width 10-15mm and am planning to hang it from the ceiling fan. Im using noose knot and bowline knot and i weigh about 40 kg.
Will this method work? Is the ceiling fan a good anchor point? I dont have any other high anchor points in my house and ive tried psh it didnt work.
If theres any way to improve this lmk please
Im planning on doing it tonight. I found out where my mom hid the rope im going to get it tonight after everyone is asleep.

if you can, go out into a forest. less likely to fail and trees are generally good anchor points. otherwise check the resource megathread. it should guide you pretty well

Did you ever attempt before ? Be aware there will be horrible fear once you stay on the chair with the noose on your neck, you might start shaking out of fear.
If you do it you must be absolutely sure that no one will find you for at least half an hour after you hand yourself.
Never attempt if there's anyone else at home because you will make noises that people in your house could hear.
I'd also recommend that you should test your anchor point before your attempt. I tested my anchor point many times to be absolutely sure it will hold. Put the rope on it and then make a loop that won't tighten itself under load and stay on it and move around that's the best way to test an anchor point .

Is it better to use a knot that doesn't tighten itself? I've always heard the opposite, and i would like to know what you think.

For the attempt, it is recommended to use a self-tightening knot (Arbor Knot), as it ensures adequate compression and the ligature will close to the maximum when the body is suspended in the air applying all your weight.

To test your anchor point and rope, it's best to hang with your hands and apply the weight of your entire body.
You can repeat the test several times to make sure nothing will break. If you hear strange noises or the structure deforms or undergoes any kind of change, it's an indication that it's not a secure anchor point.

Personally, I wouldn't choose a ceiling fan as an anchor point; they're unstable and generally not very strong. I wouldn't risk with that choice.

The user may be short (small body type) and very underweight; I weigh the same.

And I'm in my 30s.
But you don't live with your mom.

I know, but there's no way to verify that a user is a minor based solely on factors like weight or who they live with. Some adults do live with their parents too. Others also have eating disorders.

If we use OP as an example, the vast majority of users could be "minors", since they are always mentioning their parents in their posts (plus all the emotional words/rants).

It's a long topic to discuss in a new thread, so as not to derail this one.
