I had a lunch with my second best friend today. I call her my second best friend as I only have about two close friends.

She accompanied me to my dog's burial.

If everything goes as planned, it would be my last meal with her.

So at the end of our lunch, I said, you still remember where my dog's cemetery is, right?

She said, yes, of course. It's very peaceful out there.

I said, indeed. I think it's very close to a golf course and water. I think the golf course was used for US open one time

I then said, I often go out there to do ground maintenance etc. So I was thinking, I would like to have someone bury my ashes next to my dog tombstone, you just need to dig

Before I could finish, she interrupted me, and said, the human ash is very big, you need a big box, it's illegal to bury the human and pet together.

So basically, we went on this 10 minute verbal exchange, where she interrupted me everytime before I can finish one complete sentence, and basically telling me, she won't be able to bury my complete ash next my dog since it's illegal, and what if she gets caught digging hole and putting things in

She then proceeded to ask me why I always like to do things that are a little bit of illegal, and feel like there won't be any consequences....

so I said, what if it's just maybe a little bit of my ashes, not my complete ash, you just dig a small hole like you were planting a flower, and sprinkle some of my ashes down there. She then finally relented and said she think that's ok

Since she doesn't know I am actively planning, she then proceeded to tell me I should ask my God daughter/son for those things, because she may leave before me.

It was a draining exchange as she was in a interrupting mood today. I often do that too. Before the other party can finish, she's already speaking and putting forward her points as if she knows the entire situation already. I often find myself doing that as well, especially during work meetings, as I interrupt other people a lot before they finish assuming I already know what they are trying to achieve, and telling them, it's doable, but not the best way, blah blah blah

anyways, as I was driving back from our lunch, I realized that I can plan plan plan my instructions after my death and leave detailed notes to my 2 friends, I would be lucky if 10% of my wishes would be carried out. But I guess, at that time, nothing would matter anymore.

Will your family members allow her to get your ashes?

My parents are overseas. I made my first best friend my executor. My understanding is that my executor would have the right to get my ashes. And in reality, whoever paid for it will get my ashes. So it's most likely my 1st best friend. And my 2nd best friend would have no problem getting the ashes.

It depends on the country, I highly doubt it that they gonna give ashes to your friend because for the government it is just a random person, first option would be wife if you have one, second option your parents, finally any family member ready to get your ashes!

either way, my parents know that I loved my dog, and I think they will follow my wish on that as well
