Hello! I have gained access to a gun recently, but I am clueless on how to use it. I don't really know if it's lethal or not either. Does anyone know details about this gun? Are there tutorials anywhere? I'd don't even know how to load it.
I'll be honest, I am really scared about messing this up, I don't want to be a vegetable for the rest of my life. That would kinda suck.
Also, does anyone know how I could go about doing this with minimal trauma for my family? I don't want them to find my body. Should I call the police before hand or will this increase my odds of survival?

Calling authorities is probably a good idea. If death relies on you being left alone for an extended period of time after shooting yourself, you might want to reconsider the entire thing.
Do your research. Base your conclusions on data, rather than anecdotes from forum users. The entire thing sounds way too spontaneous. You better be very sure about what you're doing, before pointing that thing towards yourself or anyone else.

Thank you for the reply! I realize now that my post did come across as super spontaneous, but I've been planning this for some time now. Thank you so much for the help.
Something to think about....some people do it in their car in a remote place or a hotel....this decreases the chances of someone you know finding you. Tutorials on gun usage would be beneficial, but doubtful you will find one about how to use it on yourself - just the function of the gun, how to load it, etc.
Hello all, I'm thrw_a_way1221221, or you can call me TAW122 if that's easier for you. In this thread, here is all the information in regards to ctb'ing via a gun/firearm. Everyone who is suggesting or choosing to ctb via 'N' and 'A' and 'H', that's cool. However, this thread is about GUNS (Not...

Wherever you consider doing it, you should be careful that the bullet doesn't pass through the wall or ceiling and injure someone else. This would be a particular issue in a hotel, apartment, or house.

Ong don't be one of these people that take innocent lives with you if you do go through with it. Please don't drag innocent families with you. Care about their family like you do yours. And I hope you can care about yourself the way you do your family too.

Agree with everything said here. This is not something you mess around with lightly. Do the research (on how to use it and gun safety), and then go to a shooting range and practice shooting many rounds. And then you may reconsider this option.

I would like to play with that a little.... go to a very desert place and shot some cans, tree... do some target training.
I would never CTB using it.... too gore.... the sound of a shot is loud and someone can call police, you survive and now with a lot of severe sequels. I was seeing a video on Youtube about a guy and a case of girl that tried to blow his head with a shotgun, looks like he pointed down-up to his chin and blow up his face, didnt die. The guy got a face transplant... yikes.... heavy subject.
Be careful with that.... to not shot yourself accidentally.
I just googled "9mm operation" "revolver operation" and "shotgun operation" and found plenty. Then I googled "Beretta 92FS operation" (my gun) and found more.
Googling hangfire/misfire got me some guides on that too.
Youtube won't tell you how to point the gun at yourself, so don't bother searching for that.
There are plenty of gun nerds talking about and demonstrating different guns, though.

My response was to OP, not knowing how to load the gun.
I think your best bet is to look into how executions are done, and make your own conclusions from that.
I don't think there's any serious research done on how to best shoot yourself. There's however plenty of data on how to shoot others.
Realistically any shot to the head is pretty lethal. I've heard too many examples of people randomly surviving severe brain injuries for it to feel safe, though.
Someone's going to end up traumatized, whether it's your family or whoever ends up finding your body. If you just care about your family, then you can drive out to the middle of nowhere or book a hotel room.
I've seen too many videos of gun failures where people are still alive even after blowing their face off, so if you do go this route, try to make it as foolproof as possible. A 9mm gun is decent, but I'd want a higher caliber gun to minimize survival chances. Also make sure to get hollow point bullets. Those will expand inside you and are less likely to go through and accidentally hit someone else. And do research on where the brain stem is and best way to hit it.
You are especially vulnerable to messing yourself up & not dying but suffering even more when using a gun that you know little about.
Bad idea!!
And what about the people who have to deal with the aftermath of your violent suicide.
Personally I wouldn't even think of going out that way
