In New York I'm sure it is tougher, in the U.S. windows generally don't open at high enough heights to ctb from. From what other posters have said, in Russia windows open all the way to the top in high buildings, so this is a very common method there. But in the U.S. ctb by jumping is rare since there is no public access to a high enough height to jump from because the windows don't open in most cases. Maintenance workers have access to the roofs typically, but most people don't have access to this. To ctb by jumping in the u.s. you usually would need a high bridge, and most people don't live anywhere near to a high enough bridge here.
