I had trouble at first finding the correct spot to apply pressure to achieve the correct signs (dizziness, vision fading, hearing fading). It took a week of experimentation changing:
  • location where I am applying pressure i.e higher or lower up on the neck, closer or further from trachea - found that scanning with my fingers to find areas with strongest feeling of pulse was key
  • what I am applying pressure with i.e my thumbs, index + middle fingers, some hard objects, different sizes of hard objects - found smaller was better than bigger
  • the amount of force I am applying with - found that if pressing with a wider thing (larger area) it requires much more force than something smaller
It's similar to riding a bike or learning how to swim, you just got to keep at it and try with slight changes until you get the right technique.

I also can't believe how painless it is, it will for sure be my method of choice. The only thing I need to figure out now is how to get the objects in place perfectly over the correct area and keep them there while applying a tourniquet to apply the force. I think if the objects move at all, it would mean a failed attempt.

Seems like people overcomplicate this IMHO. It's not painful until you hit a certain point though. When your body starts to convulse and you start gasping and trying to swallow it gets quite uncomfortable. I bit my tongue quite badly and think I damaged something in my throat/neck. Was painful to swallow for months after my attempt. I was blacked out, visiin gone but somehow managed to get out and I came too as I rushed into an adjacent room. Body was tingling like crazy and my vision slowly came back.

Hmm why would you be gasping, the point of this method is so that you don't compress the trachea. You should be able to breathe perfectly fine. I also found that if I got the location perfect, it doesn't hurt at all just feels like pressure on my neck.

Thank you for sharing the information. I've never attempted this method as I would fear something going wrong if I tried to attempt, and this method is known for not being that reliable, but I guess that if it works it's always another option to ctb. I wish that it was easier to actually go through with it, with many methods suicide does really seem to be so unnecessarily difficult and complicated. But I hope that you find freedom from your suffering and I wish you the best with your plans.

Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate it.

As with any method, proper preparation is key. I don't see why this would be any less effective than other methods if you have found the correct spot on the neck, make sure pressure on those spots stay consistent and you got a tourniquet that once tightened can not be loosened.

No, headache is usually because the veins are blocked not the arteries. Vision beginning to fade and dizziness is what happens if the arteries are blocked.

dont really understand how the method works, but why use it over something like partial hanging?

It's because I have lost a significant amount of physical capacity due to my illness. I could try to do partial hanging but I probably wouldn't be able to get up if it failed and I would just be destroying my neck as I wait for someone to come help me (lol).

I never really got tired, just tired of being tingly.
It's kinda like self harming when you do it wrong. I kinda don't mind that. My stupid girl neck is getting in the way everything is too close together!

When I came too after attempt I could hear the pulse coming back into my head and my ears rang and still do to this day.
Can you share your exact setup so that I and others can avoid making similar mistakes?

I'm still here so I would say it worked necessarily.
I struggled while blskxsd out and somehow stood up fighting and freed belt from neck. The body wants to live even when your brain doesn't and you try to fool it.

The set up is easy. For me, i used an exercise band with handles on each end. i put one handle thru the other to form a loop and put it around my neck. i wrapped the other end around my shower handle and put a bed pillow with arms in the shower to lean against. i had tried wrapping the free end around a towel hanger but tested it and it immediately popped off the wall. i placed some notes in my house in obvious places with instructions where to find me and to call the police if they didnt want to find me themselves. anyway, i laid back against the bed pillow in my shower and you adjust your position, you adjust the band, you make some adjustments and make sure there's not choking/gagging . then when you feel that comfort level i'd say within 10s i started to feel the compression without any choking or gagging or difficulty breathing. I could tell it was working. i don't think more than 30 seconds had passed before i was dizzy and felt myself passing out. i suddenly had a moment of clarity and ripped the band off and called a friend.

that was 3yrs ago about while doing IV Ketamine treatments and not getting any improvement from them. to this day i'm surprised how easy it was and how painless it was with no gagging or choking or difficulty breathing. another 10 or 15 seconds (or less?) i believe i would have passed out and that would have been it. might have only been 2 or 3 seconds away, there's not really a way to know for sure. I havent had the courage to try that method again but i know how well it works. i dont think i could do it again. at this point i'd need something quick like a gunshot. If you start to feel things fading and you abort, then it is probably no longer an option in the future. my SI won't allow me to try it again.

Hope this helps people understand this method. I had an employee use this method and i've trained brazilian jiu jitsu. the "chokes" in BJJ are not really chokes. they are carotid compression and you feel the compression within seconds and tap. if you don't tap then you'll quickly pass out

Its too complex for me ... I didn't understood what you did very well. Did you anchor the band at something, something like partial?

So i put one end thru the other to make the loop. I put the loop around my neck and attached the free end to the handle of my shower faucet. I attached it to a towel hook and tested it and the hook fell right out of the dry wall. so i tried my shower faucet handle and that was pretty solid since it's attached to a metal pipe.
