Is fluoxetine worth trying? I'm worried about the side effects (especially weight gain) and I'm not even sure If I want to get better.

Probably worth a shot. If you get side effects you don't like, you can always stop taking it (just be sure to taper off instead of suddenly stopping). Meds don't help everyone, but they do help some people. Suicide is a very final act, for both yourself and people who may be affected by your death, in my view it's worth giving life as many chances as you can reasonably stomach. Hope things improve for you
