My understanding is that when a firearm is fired at point blank range recoil does not matter.
Practically speaking, does that mean that the trajectory of the bullet is entirely determined by the direction of the barrel when the trigger is pulled? So when aiming, all that matters is holding the gun at the desired angle/aim, and smoothly pulling the trigger without losing aim?
