• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I've noticed that there have been fewer goodbye threads in the last month or two. Is it just me? Is there a reason?

Summer is slightly less depressing or at least a distraction with more things to do. More daylight and sunlight helps delay suicide too I think

With the assisted suicide being made legal in some places, some are waiting for it. While some are having a hard time sourcing their poisons, sn, n, etc.

A heatwave is definitely pretty awful, although it would just be too much effort to ctb when exhausted from the heat and humidity

It could just be that fewer people are willing to post a goodbye thread...

yeah i usually notice people commit more in the fall/winter. i've always assumed seasonal depression plays a part because those are usually the "jolly, happy family times" and people like me despise it.

I think warmer months in the US are more tolerable and the sun helps a bit.

Because there really are fewer suicides in general during mid-late summer. We already have passed the seasonal peak that was in late spring and early summer (April, May and June).
