• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Is depression curable in the long-term? This really concerns me because I don't want to be running around in circles for the rest of my life.

Depression can be treated and managed but I don't think it's curable unfortunately. You can get much much better with therapy and stuff but it's not like it's gonna be 100% gone

Bouts of depression are normal and everyone has them. Chronic depression is another beast entirely and yes for some it can be cured, for others (like myself) its been a lifelong struggle. You need to isolate what is causing it for you to begin treating it.

'Ups' and 'downs'. They forgot to mention how intense and miserable the cycle can be.

Some stuck is a constant down.

yes. depression can be treated and managed. Sometimes you might have to work harder to keep it under control, other times it will be easier. Don't be afraid of medication. It can truly help. educate yourself about all medication- they all have positive and negative to them. Sometimes you need to take a med for 4+ weeks before it regulates a chemical imbalance. So don't be quick to dismiss it. Try to keep positive people in your life. Every day tell yourself 1 positive thing about you- no matter how bad you might feel find 1 thing..

there are some resources listed in the above tagged threads one or more may help you as well.

Sometimes being happier or accepting one self is a learned skill. It can take time to change how we think and process, and I think it depends on the person and circumstances if depression every fully goes away. Taking it one day at a time, and letting hard days pass and be done helps.
