A Hat in Time. It's a 3D platformer aimed towards people who played 3D platformers when they were kids. Best 3D platformer we've had in over a decade. Every time I boot it up, I somehow feel nostalgic, despite the fact that it's only been a thing for like 2 years. It's advertised as "cute as heck", which it is, but it's got some dark stuff in it. No joke, there is actually a talking noose that tries to convince the main character (Hat Kid) to hang herself. Been recently dying over and over again to Death Wish. When and if I do complete it, I should be allowed into the Salty Spittoon.

The Walking Dead series is amazing. Just finished it last week and already missing it... Definitely my favorite.

Another favorite is SOMA.

I love story-driven video games. The sad thing is that they quickly end and you can't wipe your memory to re-experience it again like the first time you did :(

Ah, nice to see a fellow fan of Telltale's The Walking Dead. Took me over a week to get out of Post Game Depression after it ended.

I just watched the trailer for A Hat in Time and I must say I felt like a kid again. It reminded me of Banjo Kazooie, Jak, Ratchet and Clank, those were simplier times. I def want to give it a try. Thanks for the video!

Skyrim was my first platinum on the playstation. Best 250 + hours of my life. Helped me escape how I felt most of the time.

The PC version of this game has so many amazing mods out there. You are missing out.

I miss the golden age of JRPGs in the 1990s, when I was a teenager :

Final Fantasy 3-6
Chrono Trigger
Illusion of Gaia
Secret of Mana
Secret of Evermore
Star Ocean 1-2

I just don't get enjoyment out of the newer games. I guess at age 39, I have finally aged out of video games.

I tried to play the remaster they did of secret of mana and it was buggy/messy but it had an interesting story besides the crashing. Video games have always been there even when I feel shitty, I guess thats why I always kept them around.

I have long lost the joy I got from playing videogames but Mario Ace is the only game Im a little bit intrigued about after I read Nuclear Throne game developer say Mario Aces felt more like a fighting game than a sport game. I bought a Switch just to play it in an attemp to reexperience long past memories. I hope it feels a litle bit like Street Fighter II. I will never forget how much buzz and excitement the SF2 arcade machine created. It was always sorrounded by people playing and watching other people play. It was like watching a soccer match on TV with a group of acquaintances. You cheered and discovered the game together .

Teen years and early 20s I was REALLY, REALLY into the Fable franchise. Played 1, 2, & 3 five+ times each.

Around the same time, I became ridiculously good at Assassin's Creed online. I could join a match with less than 3 minutes left and win.
Strats learned playing Asscreed helped me survive prison

I think my all-time favorite is Dwarf Fortress. It's been in alpha for more than a decade, and it's definitely the deepest game in the world.

Edit: I have a Militaires Sans Frontier tattoo on my chest. Don't know how I forgot this.

Funny you mention Fable that's probably the only reason I touched an Xbox. Also, recently I read there was a rumored leak we might be getting a Fable 4. I guess we will find out tomorrow though. (E3 if you watch)

Who are Playground Games and are they any good?
They are a British developer that have won a lot of awards. They are known for their game Forza Horizon on Xbox. And, their overall average for all the games released is at 84%. They are a primarily huge studio, and have multiple development teams. One concentrates on racing games, and the other team is making Fable.

Too many to mention.

For members of this community, I heavily recommend SOMA, NieR: Automata and Silent Hill 2. Glad to see SOMA mentioned previously.

They will require patience and thought, but they represent and discuss aspects of human nature (existentialism, the self and purpose) in ways very difficult to explore through other media.

I would emplore you not to play SOMA if you are feeling particularly vunerable. It's a beautiful, haunting experience but it holds no punches with it's themes. If the idea of what makes you, you, interests you, its essential. If you like horror; play it, don't even research it.

I have hundreds of examples for games for people looking for something in particular. Don't hesitate to ask.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided it is a bit special to me. This game gives an incredible immersion and it seems to me very sad, with a rough, depressive atmosphere that I like. The downside is that she has no ending, I hope that there will be a continuation.

This is still one of the best trailers I've ever seen. And Adam Jensen is one of the most human-like characters. For me, this is not perceived as just a video game - there is something special about this.

I also listen to soundtrack for many years.

The soundtrack helps me calm down. Jensen's apartment has some kind of depressive atmosphere.

In all seriousness, unfortunately I cannot give away my favorite video game for the fear of the small chance of others finding my youtube channel. Although I don't have too many subscribers, I still want to retain my anonymity since I'm on a suicide forum. I did no damage solos of bosses from this specific video game. That's as much information I'll give.

I have played tons of games that other people mentioned here. I have around 220ish games on my steam account.

Also the worst video game is Life. The RNG sucks!
