Venting Failed Suicide by Shotgun

Based on what I have researched, and I checked around a lot, people suvive gunshots from every angle- the side of the head, in the mouth, under the chin, etc- people who have survived all of these angles have posted videos on youtube, so you can see their interviews. In the U.S. the overall success rate for firearms is about 80%. It is not easy for a person to be sure of hitting the brainstem when committing suicide- the brainstem is about three inches long at the top of the spine just because a person aims for the brainstem doesn't mean they will hit it If you turn the gun slightly or tip the gun slightly from the correct angle you can miss it. If a person is an expert on firearms and an expert on anatomy, possible a doctor or nurse, their odds go up, but there are too many ways for it to go wrong to get to 100%, that's for sure. If a pro golfer can miss a two foot putt, which does happen, you can definitely miss when aiming at the brainstem, and if you do it might go out the neck next to the spin and not cause much damage- there are definitely cases like this. You could be holding the gun in one spot for a little while and have a minor muscle spasm and completely miss just based on this. I do think 99% - 100% is not realistic.

Pistol - 9mm with hollow points, in the mouth, tilted slightly upward about 15 degrees towards the brain stem

I dont claim to be a gun expert but every video of shotgun failure has someone who shot at the chin, I never seen a video of a failed shotgun suicide that wasnt someone who aimed under his chin. Man fails at suicide and Is left looking like Mr. Potato.. I highly suppose its suicide because of the angle of the shooting and the lack of struggle on the scene. Enjoy!

He got completely disfigured.
No eyes, mouth, nose, and the medics SAVED HIM!!!

I feel so sorry for this man, you can hear his pain, not only he survived, he will now live through a tube from a hole in his non existing face!

It's happened in my neighbourhood. This country is depressive as fuck, no surprise he did it. People who said here they don't feel sorry for him, the problem is, when things becomes too fucked up sometimes you want to use any means to exit without thorough research as this gentlemen did unfortunately.

Actually I expected way more gorish image, you get used to such shit when you live in a such hellhole. His forehead and frontal lobe is ok, so it seems like he tried to aim right or maybe shotgun was not powerful enough.

From what I know: this dude rented a car and decided to shot himself inside the car. The rest you can see. Probably pedestrian saw him and call an ambulance. Lesson learned: don't shoot yourself in a car.

I agree. It is hard to conceive how one can survive a shotgun in the mouth properly angled a little up. Most such cases are guns placed under the chin, but even by the side of the head, and either angled wrong or the person flinches at the last moment. Flinching would be much less likely - but still possible i guess - inside the mouth.

Recoil is not a factor. It is irrelevant because it happens simultaneous with the discharge.

If I had to use a gun, I'd rather shoot myself in the heart with my 308 rifle or 10mm glock. There is much less chance of surviving getting hit in the heart or lung than brain. A 308 can easily take down a buck, hog, or even bear with a shot to the heart, and they all weigh 2-4x what a human does.
