Lisa Marie Presley's 27 year-old son, Benjamin Keough, fatally shot himself on the upper torso, on Sunday. It took a lot of courage for him to do it, never in my wildest dreams would I be able to shoot myself. I wouldn't care being shot by someone but I'm too much of a coward to do it myself. I had an upstairs neighbor who got shot through his door in the middle of the night and I actually heard the shot and kinda guessed it was a gunshot. It was really loud and the guy probably never saw the gun pointed at him since he was on the other side of the door. A neighbor saw the bullet hole through the door in the morning and called the police. I'm so jealous that he died instantly and never saw it coming.

Rest in peace, Benjamin. Maybe you'll meet your grandfather on the other side, or not, but at least your suffering is over.

@Misery99, your life is no more insignificant than theirs are. He was a nice-looking young man born rich and related to fame, and it's sorry-making he didn't enjoy life enough to see a bit more of it. But he was not more significant than you, @Misery99.

Thanks but I live in poverty in a 3rd world country with mental issues. My life could have been a lot better if at least I was born to a middle class family.

I'm sorry your life is so difficult, but that doesn't make you insignificant. I don't mean to argue with you, though; I just wanted to let you know I don't consider you insignificant.

Thanks I appreciate your concern. The main reason I want to kill myself is because of being poor in a shitty 3rd world country. It's the worst life imaginable for anyone.

I'm in no way trying to diminish your struggles, as I've not been in your situation and I dont know what you've been through.

But mental health issues, depression, chronic pain, disability, etc. dont see social status or income. They affect everyone, everywhere.

I often think having more money would make me happy to, but then I see rich, famous, seemingly happy people who should have it all, ctb. So money may help but it doesn't fix the root of unhappiness.

They say money doesn't bring you happiness but it sure helps a lot. It's one big major thing that you don't have to worry about. I don't wish poverty on nobody, it can be hell.

I understand what you are saying but most of my problems could have been solved if I had money.In 3rd world you don't get any disability benefits from government for mental illnesses but in developed countries they do right? Even if it's a small amount it's still better than having nothing.In 3rd world either you work or starve no matter how bad your disability is.Without any help from government you have to depend on your poor,old parents and it's the worst feeling ever!

Life can be only good in 3rd world if you were born in to a wealthy family or at least to a middle class family.In my home we don't even have a refrigerator or a washing machine which are pretty basic things in a home of a 1st world country.Only a person who grew up extremely poor in a 3rd world can understand my pain.
I also live in the 3rd world. It's rough when you're surrounded by poverty, violence, addiction, corruption and illiteracy. I feel for you.
Exactly. Only people who grew up poor in 3rd world understand the pain. There's a reason why there are so many suicides in the 3rd world. The main reason is suffering from poverty more than any other reason.
They say money doesn't bring you happiness but it sure helps a lot. It's one big major thing that you don't have to worry about. I don't wish poverty on nobody, it can be hell.
The people who say that "money can't buy happiness" haven't truly suffered from extreme poverty. In this world money controls almost everything.It's the tragic reality.Poverty is the living hell.

@Misery99
All lives matter including yours.

A lot of rich people are fucked up it is actually shocking when you realise.
The amount of celebrites that have addiction issues with drugs and alchol it is a shocking.
Not a lot of coverage on it it seems. Especially that it's a suicide.
@virginiawoolf86

Actually it really depends on how famous the indivudial is when it comes to sucide. Sucides involving celebrites get a lot of attention.

In the UK where i live a famous tv presenter called caroline flack killed herself in february. She was very high profile . She hosted love island and x factor.
Her sucide received 24/7 wall to wall coverage on the News for the whole week . It shocked the nation.
The same also happened with
Robin williams.

Benjamin he was the grandson of elvis presely .
Evis presely music was famous in the 50s
I was born in 1997 . People of my generation or beyond or those not exposed to his music will not be fimilar with evis hence lack of attachment to him or those associated with him.
This could explain the lack of coverage
Well I was born into a middle class family and turned out to be a complete IDIOT.
@Ashwee73
Boris johnson came from a middle class family and he is a complete idiot. He is the UK prime minster.
In the UK we say the posh boys are running the country.

I am sorry what happened ?
Do your family put a lot of pressure on you and have high expectations

Middle class parents tend to be more pushy with thier children.

I am sure you are not a complete idiot
Thanks but I live in poverty in a 3rd world country with mental issues. My life could have been a lot better if at least I was born to a middle class family.
@Misery99
What country is that?
My parents and grandparents grew up in a third world country where as i was born in the UK .

Growing up with parents who came from 3rd world countries i was always told be grateful and i i have nothing to be depressed about. I was be also told how hard thier life was etc
Growing up i had a deal with a culture clash henece which is why i struggle to belong.

i wish i came from a middle class family too.

Not a lot of coverage on it it seems. Especially that it's a suicide.
His suicide might be eclipsed by Kelly Preston's death who also died on Sunday. Cancer is more news friendly than suicide and she also lost her son so she'll probably get more media coverage. Farah Fawcett's death was also eclipsed by Michael Jackson's when they both died on the same day.

I've noticed that all the famous people who died during the pandemic were barely talked about in the news cause it was coronavirus coverage wall-to-wall 24/7. Now it's been replaced by their new obsession, George Floyd and BLM, as if there's nothing else going on in the rest of the world.

It's a weird coincidence too that Kelly Preston and Lisa Marie Presley were both Scientologists. I'm guessing that Benjamin had no choice to follow his mom when he was young, don't know if he got out though. Lisa Marie lost a big chunk of her fortune to that "religion".

Call me a consipracy theorist but i think someone unknown behind the scences is benefiting from this coverage of black lives matter .
When i hear all these conversions about race or statues i been asking myself whos benefit is this really for ?
Not mine
I am black and these conversions i find a waste of time because the past is the past..we need to focus on the future and create a better tommorrow.

Our generation is going to experience the worst recession ever which we will take years to recover from.
During recession sucides go up , crime goes up etc
This effects us all.

Of course there's something/someone behind the BLM coverage. I never trust the mainstream media, they have an agenda and a very liberal bias. And how is erasing history helping anyone? So that we can just say there never was any slavery in America and it was all sunshine and rainbows? They don't even know that they're working against their own cause. How are the next generations to learn about the past if everything is erased and destroyed? It makes no sense.

Never in my life have my suicidal thoughts been stronger. I'm now in the planning phase, I just see a really dark future on the planet and I want out as soon as possible. The media is scaring everybody and people don't want to leave their houses anymore so things are only gonna get worse and we'll never really recover from this recession. I think suicide rates are up but they'll never talk about it, not part of the narrative. They loved giving us the daily Covid-19 death rate but you'll never see them doing the same with the suicide rates.

I am disconnected from my generation. I am 23.

My friends think what these people are doing is right.

I call my generation ,generation sheep .

Sheep because they follow and not question.

We are sleepwalking in to economic oblivion.

I just read that Lisa Marie left Scientology in 2012, so he must have left also, otherwise he would have had to disassociate from her.

Yeah but think about all the psychological damage that religion must've been put on her kids. Even after you get out, the trauma doesn't go away. I think Lisa Marie filed for bankruptcy not long ago too. Apparently, she had to go live with her daughter, actress Riley Keough.

You are a young wise soul. It can be lonely being a black sheep who doesn't follow the pack blindly. Thinking, reasoning and questioning a lot can make us even more depressed. The stupid medias don't give a shit about all the businesses closing, the bankruptcies, the social problems, the suicides, the job losses, the mental problems due to isolation, the divorce epidemic, the recession we'll never get out of, more people needing food banks.

It's all about scaring us with the second wave and the new infections. If this keeps up, there won't be any more jobs once we're supposed to get back to normal since businesses are all closing one by one everyday.
