BTW don't check tracking too often as it looks suspicious and draws attention to your package. Also it can take a day or two to register in the shipping info with some couriers. Suddenly showing multiple points of the journey.

I e-mailed D at his old address 3 days ago. I ordered 2 bottles of N, and asked him if I could pay via WU. He didn't respond. This morning, I sent him another e-/mail using a different name. This time, I ordered 2 bottles of N and told him that I would pay him via WU and told him I could send the payment tomorrow. He responded in an hour and gave me the information needed to send the money.

Now I am not sure anymore, if I should go ahead with the order. I think his behaviour is suspicious. It makes me worried that he is going to take my money and run.

I know he has accepted pàyment from other people recently and then ignored them. They haven't received their package.

Some people said that D contacted them yesterday and told them that they didn't receive their package yet because there was a problem with shipping. I hope everyone receives their package. Still, this explaination doesn't make me feel better. D is shipping a controlled substance, and he is suddenly having shipping problems? This has me worried. What type of shipping problems is he having? Is the package he sends suddenly raising suspicions at customs? I think something is wrong.

Bro I was skeptical but I think it's all good. He really was busy/shipping problems. It's up to u. U can wait for confirmation of people getting theirs or u can order.

As far as him replying to your new email account, I wouldn't read into that too much. He probably just didn't get around to replying to first account and may have deleted it. He isn't struggling for customers by the looks of things so he will assume people will send repeat messages. I suspect if you try sending a follow up from your old email address he may well respond. Take the excuses with a pinch of salt. He may have just been taking a few days away from it all and just chucked out a cursory excuse. Also a shipping issue could mean various things but when you're concerned it's natural to lean towards the worst case scenario. He may judt have needed packaging or it may be that he can only send out so many packages per day in any one place without drawing unwanted attention. There's also the language barrier which can cause things to get confused in translation. He stopped replying for a couple of days and suddenly everyone got their replies and tracking info yesterday. If you're worried just hold out for them to confirm delivery in this thread over the coming days.

I get that he owes us nothing, but I would imagine this forum is his main source of customers, and it's not like he gets repeat customers, so keeping the level of panic to a minimum would be in his best interest. I quick reply with "sent" or the tracking info would go a long way to keeping

Never even considered that, and it's very significant - thank you. But I'm such a crypto newb (and I consider myself fairly computer literate), that Monero is overwhelmingly complex to me. Even all the file verification for the wallet is intimidating...and I don't really have access to a Windows machine for the "easy" method.

Just use BTC. I don't think you need to use XMR unless you are super paranoid. I don't think the authorities give a shit about personal amounts of N. It is not like you are importing kilos of the stuff.

Okay - so BTC provides sufficient anonymity...I get that. What about the constantly variable value of BTC as a currency? If I buy enough BTC for two bottles of N, I guess I would have to do it immediately before making the payment to D, right? Otherwise, as I understand it, the value of my BTC may decrease...it could even decrease before he checks his payment...leaving me having underpaid him.

So if I pay him at noon, and he doesn't check his payment until midnight, there's still a likelihood that he will be underpaid - risking my chances of a successful delivery...or does he rely on a screenshot or something of the value at time of payment?

If it's the right amount of BTC during the time of sending, he will deliver

Not the exact same time scenario, but I inquired, he sent me his receiving address, and I paid 5 hours or so later. He still confirmed it

No you should be fine. What I meant was when I bought BTC it took a week for it to be available to me on the exchange. During that time the price changed a bit. You should fine since he checks often. I would buy a little extra though just for insurance.

Because he doesn't say it unless you ask directly. Also you need a real ID card to use WU. In the worst case scenario you can't plausibly deny that you purchased the N to the authorities. It is just good to have an extra layer of anonymity even if the chances of running into legal trouble is very slim.

I think some here have used WU without any issues. You don't have to have a real ID card to use Western Union, you can use your passport or regular driver's license too. There's even a western union app for your phone that you can use.

Your passport and driver's license are real IDs. They contain your real information. WU should be the last choice in case you just can't figure out cryptos.

I can't figure it out and it gives me a panic attack purchasing crypto with all that money when I'm not familiar with how to use it properly with the whole wallet stuff and the fluctuating price ect. I don't have time to get this wrong. I need it clean and smooth and WU is the only choice for me.

It's been over a week for me. The thing is he used to reply within minutes. So not replying after days is strange. I think if someone has been scammed they are less likely to make another purchase from another supplier, especially one that is not even vetted.

Although in the past I have gotten DMs from randoms saying they had N but no longer wanted it and would sell it for cheap. So there are definitely sketchy people on here. So I understand your point of view as well. It is just a frustrating experience when so many people before you allegedly got their N within 2 days. But you are just left with nothing.

Just send a tiny amount to a wallet you create and test it out. It's not rocket science.

Yes they are scammers. If anyone DMs you saying they have N and wants to sell for cheap ignore them or report them. If you are not sure about D's email make sure to verify with other members. This place is a magnet for scams.
