New here, but couldn't find at least on first search.

Is there any discussion about Dual method? For example, swallowing cianide and then using a gun? The purpose being if youre unlucky enough to survive the gunshot, then the cianide will kill you in a few minutes.

Why not just use the cianide, you ask? Because I still prefer the near guarantee of CTB with a gun, the cianide is just insurance so you don't end up getting discovered and sent to ER to be kept alive with brain damage ...

Also, location question.

To those that have their own house or apartment, would it be advised to CTB in a hotel or other location? My concern is family finding me. Also, I'd want to leave my house to family, and concerned they'd not be able to sell my house due to potential buyers being scared off from haunting, etc.

I'm an athiest but a lot of people believe in ghosts...

Welcome to SaSu! Sorry life has brought you to this point.

Dual methods are usually discouraged as it complicates things unnecessarily. Choosing one proven method and planning carefully is a much better option.

As far as a location, some plan to die elsewhere to avoid any issues with family/the house. It is up to personal beliefs and/or preference. I have see many threads of people going out into the woods or getting hotel rooms.

I've thought more about this. Everywhere I go like WPD etc., people say how messed up it is for you to CTB gun route at home and have your family find your body. I agree.

Cheap motel seems like the best bet. I guess I'd want my body found quickly for closure for my family, which is why I wouldn't do the woods. Also just doing it in public could expose many people at once or even kids walking by.

Motel means some poor cleaning person will find your body and need therapy for awhile (or persistent PTSD/similar depending on their set level of resilience). I don't like that, but it still beats the alternative of my parents finding me at home.

What do you all think of this location? Alternative ideas?

I'm only 50/50 I'd say on doing this in the next 5 years. Middle aged, and have a couple more new things to try first (to find the will to live and adequately address mental health, I mean), but the list is getting shorter every year.

I was just about to start a thread on stacking methods with a firearm suicide. At the moment, I'm planning to take aspirin (not sure how much) before using the gun in the hope of bleeding out quickly if I don't die instantly. Although I'm fairly confident about my revolver, ammo and shot placement, I'm still a bit spooked by stories of people being revived. I've also thought of using hanging as an add-on method - not full suspension hanging, I would tie the rope while I was standing. After the shot, my body would collapse and apply pressure to the rope.

As for location, there's a hiking trail nearby with a decent bit of elevation. I still need to do my home work and really explore the area, but I think I can find a spot that would make quick discovery unlikely and a quick medical response impossible (just in case).

About the cyanide you mentioned, how fast would the pain come on and would you be clear headed enough to shoot? I haven't researched cyanide myself.

Love the idea. Planning on doing it in a local forest. As per double method, the most plausible for me is FSH + SN. Wouldn't do it tho. I'm pretty scared of FSH. Would rather use a pew pew (which I don't have) with SN.

Cyanide takes a few minutes to take effect. You'd just need the gun ready to go. I saw a famous video of a guy who took cianide in court after a guilty verdict (arson for insurance fraud on a huge house). It took several minutes before any visible effect occurred.

Seen that. Still terrifyingly fast for observers' perspective, but yes, ingesting the salt gives you a moment or two before loss of consciousness so, in theory, stacking pewpew method with it is not impossible. Unlike HCN gas inhalation which can knock you out in seconds.

Impossible to obtain unless you work for a business involved in chemistry or for research purposes like a university.
Fun fact that's how hitler died, he took sodium cyanide and then shot himself.
