I have had desire to slice my wrists or throat open with this one. But yeah, I cannot tolerate pain very well so I doubt I would able to do serious damage.

You can not tell a knife's sharpness with your eyeballs unless you have some experience with that sort of thing.

Whether you are looking to shelf harm or make an attempt, skin is VERY tough and your blade needs to be VERY sharp. A sharp blade cuts, a dull blade damages leading to longer healing, more scars, and a larger chance for infection.

I wasn't aware of the fact that it took longer to heal if the blade is dull. Interesting, makes sense.

Instead of neatly "splitting" the skin, you roughly "tear" the skin apart with a dull blade. The tearing action causes more damage -> longer healing time. That is why, ironically, if you want to self-harm you should do it with something sharp.

I will add also dull blades tend to make people press harder which also leads to accidental deep cuts and, again, worse wounds.

I have had that desire when I have felt really bad and shit, but like I said before, My pain tolerance is quite low. I cannot stand pain that well.
