Hello to all of the people that have tried partial before.

I was just trying again myself because I might need to ctb after a long time without trying.

The thing is that the larynx gets very uncomfortable. I know that the idea is that the rope stays at the upper part of the neck if possible, nonetheless I still get all uncomfortable there in the throat.

Yes, this precisely! I really think that if there was not swallowing reflex, suffocation would become easier. The thing is that it tends to get very uncomfortable there. My guess is that this is related to how the pressure is being distributed along the throat. It shouldn't be place at all at the front, else you end up putting all the forcrnonto the larynx which triggers the swallowing reflex. Pressure force must go all if possible to constricting the carotids

I think this is related more to pressure force distribution. Normally, hanging puts it all on the front on the throat. I remember reading a while ago about someone who recommended using some padding placed at the position where the rope squeezes the carotids so that all the pressure focuses there

Yes, this precisely! I really think that if there was not swallowing reflex, suffocation would become easier.

If your rope is positioned at the top of your neck, it shouldn't be pressing on the larynx (voice box). It should be pressing on your throat and the area where thy Hyoid bone is. The larynx is positioned lower. I just wanted to make sure we're talking about the same thing.

Anyway, I've seen comments describing this swallowing reflex when the rope is pressing on their throat.

Padding. I don't know what the solution is or if there's any. You could use padding, and some people find that it helps them, but I'm not convinced that using padding is the best approach. I'd be afraid that it might shift out of position. I think using just a rope is simpler and safer. But then again, this is just my opinion.

Direction of the pull. You might try lowering yourself instead of leaning forward. I know this sounds counter-intuitive. If you lean forward, there is a lot of pressure at the front of your neck. On the other hand, if you just lower yourself and let the rope pull the noose upward at the back, the pressure at the front will be different and there will still be a lot of pressure at the sides. Lowering yourself might work better than leaning forward. Keep in mind that whichever way you lean, it needs to be done suddenly and with a lot of force to be effective, and it will be uncomfortable/painful.

Pain/discomfort. Also, whatever you try, don't expect hanging to be perfectly comfortable. There will be a certain amount of discomfort. The way I look at it, the idea with hanging is to pass out quickly rather than eliminating the discomfort. If you pass out quickly, you don't have to endure the discomfort for long.
