I love it! Animals are awesome in general... ESPECIALLY horses.. I was doing pretty well when I worked at a horse farm and could love on each one when I would turn them out or in :)

Hi sounds nice, horses are beautiful. What does turning them in or out mean?
I have some very intuitive cats. I acquired 1 in a parking lot when people were looking for the pound. I thought right then he was my angel.View attachment 35620

Lovely cat  Mine are similar, intuitive.
View attachment 36310

This is Wicket. He's the cat that comforts me when I'm upset, he's the one that puts his paw on my hand. To reassure me. He basically holds my hand. The cat in the above picture Tyson.... is Wicket's son.
Wicket is 15 years old.

Bless, I have a black cat age almost 16, and a tabby almost 17. They both comfort us when we're upset. Animals have intuition.

Yes animals have great intuition!!
My cats are elderly but they don't act or look elderly. They act like 3 year old cats, running, jumping etc.
Id love to see pics of your cats!!

Aw same here, the black cat (Sapphire) jumps up on my bed or the sette so gracefully and delicate. She's much smaller than Ruby. Both came from cats protection
Sapphire was 7 weeks and separately Ruby was around 10 months, due t age She has arthritis in one back leg so we try help her keep warm when it gets cold.
Both have cat igloos that fold down into an open bed.

I'll try send photos at dm when i can. Won't be soon tho. So sleepy can barely function.

Thank you. Wow so did we. My housemate and I were on committee at a (then ) local south east London branch. i typed as they talked, taking minutes of meetings. I was there 7 years, my friend was there 9 years. One day he was moving kittens in the cats van, took them from a fosterer to another who had better space for them all (about 4). Still have photos of them, i held one at a time and my friend took snaps. Cuties. Bundles of fluff probably all grown up now.

Aww!! Kittens are adorable!! When my female cat had kittens, I called the cats protection and a nice lady came and collected them. I had 8 cats at that time and we couldn't look after any more. She was lovely and promised to find them a good forever home. They are grown up now.

Aw. I love cats protection, they were a good team. We went to the HQ for a meeting some point and the place for the homing centre, we walked around and it was terrible, because i wanted to take so many home. My mate said "i know so do i but we can't." We had these two already. We're big softies. Xx

I helped my cat Biskit give birth to her kittens in 2004. One of the kittens was my cat Wicket. It was beautiful seeing new life come into the world. I felt so privileged. A part of me always wanted to be a midwife.
Biskit died of a brain aneurysm a few years ago on New Year's Day. We had to take her to the vet to relieve her of her suffering. That was heartbreaking. The vet sedated her in a separate room before we could say goodbye. She never heard us say it. Me and my partner were in tears. Her two boys Sooki and Wicket are happy, healthy older gentleman cats now. 0224EACF DB84 41ED 9859 E229E675EA6E

Thank you very much. Biskit was the Queen of the household. Yes Sooki and Wicket are gorgeous. I love them very much. Wicket and Sookis father was called Bruce, he was a lovely cat. He was a black and white Tuxedo.
Bruce was so happy when he saw his sons born, he started rolling around. It was adorable.

This is Inky. She saved my life after I lost my son. She slept on top of me. She and Ollie were the first two cats my son and I adopted together (my son was 14 months old). I have had 6 cats at one time. Right now I live inside with 3 and there are up to 4 feral cats I care for. Also volunteered for our local Trap-Neuter-Return agency. One of the indoor cats was my son's. His other cat escaped and I was never able to locate him. He was also black with a bobtail.

Aww, she's sweet  Volunteering is very noble and enjoyable. How long did you volunteer at your Trap neuter return agency?
Feral cats can be hard work, you must have patience. Bless you.

My housemate used to have a tuxedo cat called sooty years ago. He was a mischief if he tried to read and the cat wanted a lap. Always at that point he would jump up on my friends lap. Sister cat was sweep, she was black and white. Earlier, they had a tuxedo cat called blackie, knocked every item off the mantelpiece as he walked along it. I never knew blackie or my friend back then but ive heard so much about him. Was sad what happened, my friend and his mate were burgled one day and poor blackie must have suffered a heart attack before the guys returned home. Theres a couple of photos of him, he was a beautiful big boy. They also had a tortoiseshell called Everton before i knew them.

Aww they sound like lovely cats. I love Black cats and Tuxedo cats and Tortoiseshell cats. My cats are cheeky and funny. My cat Wicket is a big, chunky, greedy lad who loves to play and loves cardboard boxes. In fact all my cats love cardboard boxes. My cat Sooki, he's a red tabby. He is a complete lap cat. I love my fur babies with all my heart.

Aw. They sound lovely too. Mine like boxes too, and I read somewhere that they like sitting in them because it lowers their stress levels. I luv ours too and I know we both will cry like babies when we lose our fur babies. Ours get plenty of hugs too.
Sapphire has become a lap cat though she's a wriggler if we try pick her up. Claw clipping at home was a no go! My friend managed to bet her in the vets one day only cost £8.50 very good for a private one. Another in the area when i rang 7 years ago wanted £18! I wondered of they have gold clippers there, and said "That's a lot for claws!" Silence .. i like this one we settled on, they also give advice on phone if you're stuck.

On another note we had a slight problem with fleas, sprinkled diatomaceous earth (food grade) on carpets, left it four days then vacuumed .. no more scratching cats.

Ooh I must try the Diatomaceous earth for my cats fleas!! I've heard of it, but never tried it. Thanks for the information.
Tyson hates having his claws clipped. We have these clippers that look like scissors. We got them online. They are pretty safe because they have a barrier that prevents clipping too close to the quick of the nail. All of my other cats don't mind their claws being clipped. They all love being combed and brushed. They all sit in a line waiting their turn lol! It's so cute. Ibrush them once a week, maybe twice in summer.
At our local vets they charge £10 for nail clipping. A bit of a rip off to be honest.
Sapphire is a beautiful name for a cat!!
Yeah my cats like their boxes because it's their spot and their territory so yes they do feel safe in them. They like really small boxes too. Wicket squeezed himself into a really small box once. The sides were bulging, because he's a bit of a chunky bear cat lol!! He looked equal parts ridiculous and funny lol!!

 Aw cute i can oictire a line of cats waiting for grooming. We brush ruby every other day in warm weather but .. have you trued wet hands? Make hands wet, rub along cats fur, cools down cat and remove excess fur. One of mine wriggles - sapphire so i have done this a few times. Use a bowl of water or go back to bathroom to rinse hands (i get dry skin some days so i use rubber gloves then)

Note-
Make sure you have a decent vacuum cleaner because this clogged up the filter a bit, but we didn't use a sieve first time round. That was definitely a help when the idea came.
Try keep an old one handy. Ventilate as much as poss because this will dry your throat as well. It kills fleas by dehydrating them.

Ok will do!! Thanks hun!! My partner is researching as we speak!! I hate fleas in the rug. We have laminate flooring. It's the rug in our living room that the fleas stay on . We vacuum it twice a week anyway but fleas are sneaky little beggars and the eggs are what bother me.
I'll try wetting my hands and grooming my cats that way. My cats don't like it when it's too hot. It's hot today !! I have a big fan in the living room for them. I do have to brush Wicket twice a week in the summer because if his size, his fur sheds more and he has a lot of it for a Domestic British shorthair. He's my love chunk.

It's fun reading about all of your cats. The first cat I ever had changed my life because I wasn't allowed to have cats. So I moved. It was a snowshoe kitten at an apartment complex I named Jaxom.

My 3 indoor are StarZe (the big one), Yow (my son's cat) and Purry (small orange tabby). The ferals are a brother and sister with medium length hair. Baby is the boy (didn't know until I trapped him- he's part Siamese) and Jackie (her markings remind me of a pirate).Their mother came back around (haven't caught her) and one I call Tabby visits. Think he's a tom. It took many months before the younger two would let me pet them. I volunteered for about 8 months I think. Stopped when pandemic hit. I started an online group I hope can help cats in need. IMG 20200505 005358 hdr That's Baby and Jackie.
