It appears to be much faster than I ever expected. I can visualize myself doing the same thing on some date in the future

I've seen quite a few and yes, I agree it looks fast and it's because it is supposed to be so. It's like if someone has you in a chokehold and you can't get out of it. You'll be lights out in some 5-10 seconds or so. That's the peaceful part, convulsing and whatever other fun shit one's body might choose to do after unconsciousness is the part where I fear getting caught, getting into a position that supports bodyweight enough to regain consciousness and have SI kick in. Might get brain damage from that who knows.

I only watched one hanging video. I mainly watch suicide by gunshot videos.

Sometimes. I watch of various methods. Some of them can be very unsettling but that show me that people can overcome SI and they can be done. Gives me hope whenever I have doubts about the extreme difficulty of being able to commit. I can be like "well this person went through with it". I am aware that some people are able to overcome any fears and doubts they have easier than others. But its a good reminder to me when I hear about failed attempts that hey, this can work.
