No. I think we go to nothing. We return to nothingness, just like before we were born.
Thing is, how do you know there was nothing before we were born. You dont have memory of it. When you were a baby you also dojt have memory of that, but you were living. I think its either an eternal recurrence of this exact life over and over again or nothing.

If the big bang came out of nowhere, why cant it happen again over an infinite time.

I don't believe that people that commit suicide go to hell! Did you know that there were seven suicides in the Bible? And I believe that he has forgiveness and he knows the pain that caused the mental challenges that come along with suicidal thoughts and actions!

It's my deepest hope that if there is something resembling a Christian heaven and hell that a loving god would invite anyone into heaven that didn't reject him. And I'd hope that ctb doesn't qualify as any sort of a rejection of god.

Impressed with the Casey quote. Wasn't this Operation Mockingbird? Check out the interviews at spitfirelist dot com. Emory is a bit controversial, but I still like the interviews. Justifies even more my leaving this gulag planet.

Yeah, there is no way of knowing that. It's all about faith. Or the lack of it.

Ps.: I used to be a christian and I have read the Bible many times. It is a sin to kill yourself, but it is not an unforgivable sin. There is only one unforgivable sin which is cursing the holy spirit or something like that. Also, it's written that only God knows the destiny of a soul, because he can see the heart. If that's true, I don't think lots of us are going to hell.

Anyway, that's not what I believe in, btw.

I think "afterlife" is what your brain makes up in those brief moments after you "die" but your brain is still functioning - like the stories we get of near death experiences.
The human mind is truly fascinating and I think it can make it seem like an eternity. I'm also not ruling out something more spiritual, but eitherway I believe in the power of belief/law of attraction.
With that view, I think you will experience what you expect to experience
So if you do not believe in hell and I don't think you will go there.
If you keep thinking about it however and worrying about it perhaps your mind will conjure that experience
So I say to do your best to think happy thoughts and believe in your nice peaceful afterlife with your family

This is what I worry about- there doesn't need to be a hell for my mind to believe I'm there. My brain comes up with all sorts of creative nightmares when I'm sleeping. I can't imgine I'm going to be all that calm if I know I'm dying... Maybe I should be working on lucid dreaming...

As regards to a REAL hell- I doubt there is one. I'm leaning more towards there being nothing. Still- I'm not an outright unbeliever- I was raised with religious/spiritual ideas that are hard to shift entirely.

Honestly- if there IS a God- why shouldn't there be a hell? Why wouldn't he/she/it send people there forever for the slightest misdemeanor? Look at this world and how it's been designed! Do you REALLY think 'our' God plays fair? I'd say- based on the 'evidence'- the living world that they supposedly designed plus some of the religious texts we have- if there IS a supreme ruler- more seems to point towards them being a sadistic Narcissist rather than a loving parental teacher. I'd say we're ALL in trouble if there really is one.

I just hope there isn't one to be honest. Or- that there's some utterly fantastical but good reason behind all of this that my brain is too small to comprehend.

I believe in God and my beliefs as a Christian teach me that people that commit suicide don't go to hell. I believe my dad and brother are in Heaven and I will meet them there because I believe that Jesus is my Savior. Christianity teaches me that that is all one has to do to go to heaven, so hopefully I will go there and finally be at peace.
I share your beliefs, and I do think you will see your dad and brother in Heaven.

There is no heaven or hell

- There is no God who stands outside of nature

- There is no one to hear our prayers

- Or to create miracles

- Or to punish us for misdeeds

- Man is not God's chosen creature

- The bible, koran or other holy books were only written by ordinary people

- It's pure superstition and mumbo-jumbo

God does not see anything, nor does he expect anything. He does not judge. He does not even reward the virtuous person with a life after death. Every representation of God as a person is a projection of the imagination.

Basically what the title says. Do you all think that people who kill themselves go to hell? This is my biggest fear. I don't wanna end up in hell for eternity suffering 10,000x more than I am now.
I don't believe in heaven, hell nor God personally, but what I like about my new religion that I'm joining is that they don't judge suicide, they say suicide can only be judged by God and that it's a personal matter and there's circumstances where suicide is somewhat accepted. It's comforting to know that I can speak about suicide openly in that community and I will not be judged for it, the way I speak openly about it with my friends and family. It's also nice to know that if I do end up CTB after all, they wouldn't judge me or think less of me.

They invented hell to scare children and simpletons. It's like the boogieman is going to get you if you don't do your homework. Imagine if no one ever mentioned anything about such things.. what would life be like for you?
