When I was younger I had a lot of anxiety that someone posts a picture of me on the internet. I am still very careful not to post one. (more or less) . I use dating apps and well I had to overcome my fear which was a big step for me. Prior to that I did not even allow to send a picture from me to my friends. I tend to black white thinking though. Now I spam them full with my pictures - they have to rate them which is the best for my dating apps. However, I would not ask a community on the internet for advice. I asked me in which this might be different to dating apps. With a google search you cannot find dating profiles which I am very glad about. I think think privacy is pretty important.
Some months I ago I met a woman from a dating app. We did sexting and had webcam sex. Lol. I did not think I would ever do something like that. But I trusted her, it was relatively safe and I had the desire to make my first sexual experiences. Before we had such talks we texted 2-3 weeks prior 24/7. I had psychosis and I tend to paranoia. We also discussed it could make me paranoid if we did that I also was pretty paranoid because of her a couple of times. I was scared of catcalling or a scam. However, I googled her name, Found (sort of) a picture of her I was not sure whether it was actually her. But I found her full name, details about her job and her employee. She sent me nudes before we did the camsex. I considered to sent her pictures of me (Only visible once) but she said it is probably be better not to do that if it makes me paranoid. Tbh for her so much more was at stake. Basically if these nudes were leaked her career would be over. She would have to quit her job with no alternative. And she sent such pictures to many men. But most often without face. After I checked her identity online I was less paranoid.
When I was younger I thought I would kill myself if nudes of me would be leaked. Tbh I don't think I have this take anymore. I am a guy. I think noone would care about it. As long it would not be shown after a google search or something like that. In the EU you can force them to take such pictures down. But many lives were ruined. I read a story of a couple filming themselve having sex. The pictures/videos were leaked it ruined their lives. One time at a party someone made a joke and showed the other party guests them having sex. However, the woman was judged so much more. I heard sextortion is a really bad and popular thing nowadays. And I think young male teenagers are the main target. A woman messages them on their Instagram claims to have interest in them. Sends them allegedly nudes of herself. Demands the same and then they blackmail him. This led to many suicides. Actually, a really weird "woman" texted me on a dating app. It was obvious she was fake. She demanded my phone number and pressured me. Tbh I am not that naive. It was so obvious it was a scam. Maybe I should have reported her but I don't have proof. I did not give her anything. But they prey on lonely, desperate men. I think it could evoke severe trust issues if one gets fooled in such a way. But it might depend on the aftermath.
Theoretically, when we did that webcam sex intelligence services could have filmed it for example. I even joked with her about that. In the end I would not care that much. If you have such a job and be a voyeur that might be the jackpot. However, there is so fucking much porn online. I never saw any nude pics or porn of someone I know in real life. Well except the woman with whom I did sexting. Lol. I think with deep fakes real nudes and fake nudes can barely be distinguished anymore. Maybe we will have to live with that. I think the biggest damage is done on women though. The models work best on women.
I think such an experience can be pretty traumatizing. I read stories of psychotic women or men running nude in the street/on an airport and they videos became virale. This must be pretty hard to stomach.
I think though ignorance can be a bliss in this instance. The problem emerges when many people see it or you get associated with it. Whether some intelligence service agents wank on it. Well maybe some people have a problem with that. The likelihood is still pretty unlikely and it would not be publicly visible.
What is your take?
One thing to add. I wonder why some men send dick pics on dating apps. Couldn't they easily get blackmailed. Besides that it is sexual harrassment. And which woman actually likes getting such pictures without consent? I assume it is sort of a revenge thing when they get ignored by a woman. That's my best explanation.
