Do you think any famous or in a high position person read(s) this site?

With reading this website I mean using it in order to cope with suicidality or planning suicide. Not analyzing it in order to prohibit the website.
In a news article they said SS had 500 members. However the passive readers must be way more people I think. Not sure how likely it is that there are some of these people in our circle. I would somehow wish the people in the title would become right to die advocates but you get very fast stigmatized if you become one.
I could imagine that a politician uses this website but is not openly pro-choice. There was one christian treasure secretary in my home country who ctb during the covid-pandemic. He was probably against assisted suicide. At least in his position.

Shoddy journalism....Theres over 18,000 members. The 500 number probably came from some journo doing a basic glance at the website and saw 500 active users (members and guests) and just went with it.

People can say anything about SS they want to and people will believe them. The second anyone hears suicide its like their brain shuts down. All the more reason this website should be around.

Some nun on Twitter wrote a tweet about how a 16 year old girl was actively doing the act on this website and people were giving her different methods. Of course people ran with that but when she decided to fix her mistake....no engagement. I checked the user she was referring to and none of her/his posts referred anything to their age...so this nun presumably made something up to get the most shock value. Kinda sickens me to be honest how society gives a pass for people to blatantly lie about stigmatized topics with zero shits about whom it affects.

That is an interesting thought. Imagine being a celebrity that wants/needs to ctb but doesn't want to/doesn't dare talk to a therapist in fear of it getting leaked. Where do you go :( no wonder they turn to drugs for help, fuck

Yes it is possible. Every and any human being is capable of feeling suicidal regardless of where they are on the social ladder; though I still dislike the concept of social status. This community provides its users a space to talk about their thoughts anonymously, so there is no reason why a celebrity would not want to take advantage of this forums level of privacy; considering that they can be subject to the same stigma as anyone else. Plus celebrity life can take its stressful toll on those who carry the reputation, and this can contribute to poor mental health.

The opposite could also be correct: that there are no celebrities present on this forum, but even if this is true there are still definitely famous individuals in the world who wish to die and just keep it to themselves until the actual act i.e.: Kurt Cobain.
