I'm new here. I wasn't sure of a good way to break the ice and start a discussion, so I would like to know the community more. Especially before I decide to make posts with more serious discussions.

Do any of you enjoy tea? I like it a lot; I have fond memories of going to Teavana stores when I was a child. At the moment, I can't have any tea, but for when I am able to again I would appreciate some recommendations.

For like 4 years I had a large cup of green tea and a piece of bread for breakfast. Now I still drink it two or three times a week. I don't care if my doctor aunt said that it's toxic to the liver or something.

I like the Chinese blend that I can get locally a lot. I tried the Japanese matcha from Costco and let's say it was... Interesting. It tasted like melon so it's not my favorite.

I love tea!! I've been especially addicted to this chocolate chip black tea I got from a local tea shop lately, tea is so so good. I'm a little picky sometimes and usually prefer more sweet tasting teas, but willing to try any flavor at least once :-0

I feel the exact same way. Somehow it always helps me through it all.

I wouldn't listen to that statement; I'm sure there are far more benefits than negatives to drinking green tea especially. I've never thought about getting it at Costco before... but I worry about teas from large stores sometimes. If it's possible to get it locally, it is definitely the best way. I wish I could do that.

Chocolate chip tea sounds very good, I wish I could try it. I can't imagine the taste, but I want it! I like sweet teas that do not require much sweetener to be added.

Yes. Just regular tea. I suppose it's Indian tea. I don't drink as much as I used to of it. Pretty much just one cup with breakfast now. My tea making capabilities seem to vary too. Some days, it tastes much nicer than others.

I used to hate tea as a kid but the only exposure I had was Earl Grey (sorry Captain Picard) which I thought tasted like "stick juice". Then, in my 20s I discovered chai and oooooooooh man, do I like chai. Then I went to Japan and had good green tea. Those two opened me up to the world of tea and I now have literal pounds of it sitting in my cabinets.

My favorite is still chai although I get a caffeine free version otherwise I would never sleep. I also like orange spice or a warm, nutty tea. Never really been a fan of the really "fruity" teas or tea that is not piping hot, however.

Yes I love tea :) I used to exclusively drink iced teas but lately I have been really big on drinking it hot. I like milky black teas, rooibos, chamomile. But sometimes I'm very forgetful with restocking, and when I find my tea cupboard empty I just drink plain hot water LOL

I also really like 유자차 (yuja cha), it comes in a jar as a jam-like mixture (you dissolve it in hot water) and is very sweet and delicious. I mostly drink that if I'm sick or worried about getting a scratchy throat or something.

I have never been to Teavana before but it's wonderful that you have good childhood memories there, I don't think I drank much tea until I was an adult (I am making up for that lost time by drinking copious amounts of delicious and new-to-me teas as often as I can now haha). This is a fun thread! Thank you for posting

I have a family member who started drinking tea because of Captain Picard; we have tea together sometimes!
I love chai very much too. I have never seen a caffeine free version, though. I would love to find one!

Sometimes! More of a black coffee person myself hehe. My favourite teas/tisanes are:
  • Peppermint
  • Lady Grey (hate early grey though)
  • Sencha nagashima (Japanese green tea)
  • Chamomile
  • Bengal spice (a type of chai made by Celestial Seasonings)

I like both tea & coffee.

My day starts with coffee, I usually have tea afterwards and maybe back to coffee.

Tim Hortons is my favorite coffee shop. At home, I've been drinking a Bob Marley brand lately.

For Tea, Tetley or Red Rose. Sometimes peppermint with a bit of raw honey and a splash of lemon juice

I also like Brisk for a cold drink.

Thanks for posting, and welcome!

Drinking heavy amounts of green tea can damage the liver. A cup a day likely isn't going to hurt most people.

There are some people who should limit green tea. I'm one of them. It inhibits iron absorption, so I should avoid it because of my condition.

Unless you have a medical reason, green tea is quite healthy. It lowers cholesterol, good for the heart and reduces inflammation. Just don't drink 4 cups a day.

In my country, there's a tea brand called Prendjak. That's my favorite tea. I'm not a big tea person but for this particular brand, I can make an exception. I usually drink it with lemon and honey.

My other favorite is Ahmad Tea's Earl Grey. So good with condensed milk and a bit of salt. Their Hibiscus tea is bit off for my liking.

That's all I guess. My goal is to afford myself some Twinnings.

I hate how I have to remember to drink more water after tea since it's dehydrating, and of course I don't remember all the time.

Otherwise I'm fine with tea and drink it often, but it does get boring, and I have lately felt like drinking less.
