Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

The title is a little convoluted, to what extent are people with suicidal ideation (especially on this site) not suffering from any sort mental health affliction associated with suicide (Generalized Anxiety, BPD, Major Depressive, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, PTSD)

i think it depends on how self-aware you are and what exactly is making you suicidal. socio-economic factors, environment, family, and genetic predisposition ("positive stress") may be the cause.

Severe case of shit life syndrome for me.

I feel for people who genuinely can't tolerate existence under any circumstance. But I guess it's a similar experience in some ways.

We're both waiting on a "miracle cure". They've got a disease that won't improve, I've got a cage I can't escape.

As someone with suicidal ideation, I was diagnosed with gad and mdd, but I honestly just dont agree with those diagnoses...maybe bc I tend to downplay my "struggles" but it's not like I'm crying 24/7 or always rocking back and forth out of fear. I'm neutral most of the time just like everyone else; I get sad when bad things happen and happy when good things happen, minus the fear of everything falling apart bc things feel too good to be true. The only difference is that I have a chronic desire to ctb bc life is inherently cruel

It's a question I've even wondered about myself. I don't have debilitating mental illness. Years ago, I was diagnosed with mild to moderate depression by filling out a questionnaire with my GP. I'm pretty much the same as then- so- I suppose it's a possibility.

However- I'd also tend to question- how common are things like depression without a shit life? Isn't depression symply a symptom of a shit life?

Obviously, some mental disorders can exist independently of what's going on in a person's life but- I would think depression is usually triggered- and sustained by real life events.

The issue I suppose is- that it makes the whole situation worse. We maybe become too fixated on the negative. We struggle to find any joy and we lose the strength/ motivation to improve our situations.

I imagine a lot of mental disorders go hand in hand with our (shit) life events though.
