I've binge watched Bald and Bankrupt a lot lately and it's helped me somewhat to pass the time and distract myself from my own problems, but I can't help but wonder how the fuck people like Kolya haven't killed themselves yet. A life full of loneliness, sadness, grief and who knows what else with only memories of dead relatives and drinking vodka everyday just to not feel anything at all. It's just depressing as fuck to see people live like this and to think that so many people especially the elderly live this way to some degree it just makes me feel overwhelmed with how much pain and loneliness there is. While it may make me glad I have some family alive still, all I see is my future if I even get to his age. Fuck that.

Yeah I don´t understand either it´s like when people say "people have it worse than you" how does that help me I am still suffering from a dozen physical and mental problems, people who are 50+ years old are healthier physically and mentally than me so why should I appreciate my life existence more because someone else have it bad?

yep. seeing someone suffering or in a disadvantaged position will not make my PTSD or depression magically go away. never made sense to me either. i guess the rationale is that seeing others have it "worse" than you would make you appreciate what you have... but that could potentially work with people who are just... temporarily sad or going through a minor thing, rather than those who suffer from severe mental/physical illnesses and seriously consider their life to be miserable (that's assuming that it's helpful to say such things in any situation, which I do not think it is).

Honestly, no. I kinda fast-forwarded through the video a bit, but for the most part I just think why hasn't he ctb.
My mom and stepdad constantly pushed "be grateful for what you have, because others have it worse" on me and my siblings. It was to the point that we forced to share and be generous rather than presenting it as an option or choice to do nice things for others. And while they weren't foster parents they might as well have been. We'd be forced to entertain other children or share our and birthdays with them and never allowed space or privacy, their attention was more on other children leaving us all to be emotionally neglected. These aren't even awful things or the worst experiences of our childhood, but it made us more resentful when doing something nice for someone else. I think all of us struggle with putting someone else's happiness before our own, but it's not because we're selfless, it's more like an ingrained obligation.

I totally agree and we are always told not to compare ourself to others but apparently only if it´s about positive things in others and to contradict that saying I do compare myself to others why wouldn´t I? It´s unfair that other people do not suffer from a single physical or mental problem while I got a dozen like it all got loaded on to me so they could live without any misery I bet a man in a wheelchair also shouldn´t be jealous of people who are able to walk and appreciate what he have? And as you said that others may have it worse doesn´t magically make all my problems go away I am still suffering.

Lol, interesting what a beautiful place to live no annoying neighbors having parties or playing loud music at 3am in the morning.

Spacious detached House in the forest and all that glorious land, what he has you would have to be a multi millionaire in the UK, I think if you showed him a video of how we live in tower blocks or on the streets, I think he would appreciate his life more, haha.

Locking his door made me laugh there's no one around for miles and you would have thought he would have opened his door as he once had a visitor, unsociable git he liked them rubles though didn't he, more. The cemetery was well cared for, makes you wonder if they look after the dead better than the living.

Just one thing puzzled me did they evacuate the village because he wouldn't change his underpants as there was no sign of a toilet.
