Hi, After purchasing SN from DMC over a year ago, I'm starting to get slightly anxious that my SN will soon expire. Apart from ordering from DMC, does anyone know if it's actually safe to import SN to the UK anymore, especially after the semi-recent Channel 4 documentary? I'm a little behind, considering I took a little break from SS :)

UK customs is seizing any SN that they find and you will get a welfare check.

Border Force is alerted when this substance enters the UK so that any unregistered buyer will receive a welfare check under the Government's "Right Care, Right Person" scheme.

I would not trust DMC at all, their packages are all being seized and customs knows exactly what to look for from that sender in particular.

However, properly stored SN will last for several years. You have nothing to worry about if it's just a year old.

I got SN delivered from abroad to the UK earlier this year, about July I think, from a well known company on the normal web in central europe, no welfare check, shipped with a main well-known international courier, no problems at all.
There are plenty (used relatively in this context) of reports of people getting it shipped to the UK without issue, including more recently.
No-one knows exactly what triggers the welfare checks. Maybe it's known suppliers, maybe it's random customs spot checks, maybe it's the destination person/address is "known". Maybe all of these. Who knows. Most people say the DMC has long been compromised, as in that source is known about and shipments from there will trigger a welfare check.
But it is (still, just perhaps) perfectly legal to buy, sell, own and import SN to the UK. It is a perfectly legal substance, it's just the intended use by some people that isn't. We could say the same about any household chemical/substance that has the potential to cause harm.
If it was illegal to sell to private individuals (non business) in the UK and import to the UK as a private individual then legitimate suppliers wouldn't ship to non businesses in UK. They do.
They are "welfare checks", not "raids". But they do happen in the UK yes, some reports of that happening, and some of it getting confiscated by customs or the order cancelled after initially being accepted, some of the supplier asking what it is needed for (I think for UK orders, not 100% sure).

Where does this information come from? It doesn't make sense.
Alerted by who? What is an unregistered/registered buyer? Registered under what system?

ow do you know if it's properly stored? I've not taken it out of the box it came in. It's in my bathroom but we had a super hot summer.
