Maybe not one, but if you use 2/3 the chance of survival is pretty slim.

If I can't get SN, I'll tape up vents to make it as airtight as possible.
And sorry, no, lighting it won't, you need to let the fire burn out to the point it's just the glowing coals

As soon as flames are gone, bring it inside because that indicates incomplete combustion, and the start of cooling yeah.

What brings you to this point Green?

I'm scared of jumping and trains. I've failed hanging (ligature broke) and ended up in psych ward. I've lost my job, home, girlfriend because of mental illness. I'm desperate to leave and trying too find a method which isn't too hard. Do you need to be asleep first or can you be awake when the bbq is releasing carbon monoxide? Thanks for help.

I want to do this method with benzos - but not sure how that would be timed. But I think the CO is a very quick method from what I've read.

Yeah I might take sleeping pills and alcohol just to make sure there's no chance I get up and out the car, but that involves going to a shop and speaking to people and that's not a thing.

Also, more chance of my death being looked into if no drugs in my system.

@Nicothe13th I'm missing the car option. I will need to do the tent option. When I'm really ill and bedridden the idea of organising it is overwhelming.

I just wonder if fully concious it would work. Its impossible to time it so your sleeping. Yes benzos and alcohol might make you sleep but not guaranteed. So I wonder if this method can be done awake. Would SI make you get out the car or tent.

I don't think it would, because it's not like suffocating where you're gasping for air.

It's like you get dizzy, then bam, you faint, then you die because you keep inhaling the CO and before you know it there's to much in your bloodstream to allow oxygen to your vitals.

Thus, the suffering has ceased.
Whereas hanging, jumping those kind of things, you've really got to push yourself to do something your brain is screaming at you not to do.

This, you just gotta close your eyes, and chill.

Shame you can't use ovens like that anymore!

There are lots of accidental deaths by bbqs being in tents if you google it. But yes it does seam too good to be true.

i had never heard of sylvia plath before, what an interesting and sad story. ted hughes her partner married again to assia wevill who committed suicide the same way and took their 4 year old daughter with her. heart breaking really

It does not take much to do this method.

It is a dangerous thing though, to other people if they walk in to the space not knowing or if the gas travels through the ceiling and walls of adjacent spaces with other people in them.

I would want to use a co ppm meter/measuring device to see the co ppm rise above at least 1000ppm, personally.

I heard they changed the stuff in ovens (gas) so that it can no longer be used for ctb

This is my preferred method but not in a vehicle. I would not hesitate to use a vehicle, especially a larger box shaped vehicle would work well and easy enough.

For my exit, I expect to use the carbon monoxide method inside of a small cabin. I will fill the cabin with carbon monoxide from a generator pumping the gas in from the outside, and then also use a grill setup on the inside too.

I will do a pre-run first so I actually know what to exactly expect on the levels rising and for how long they stay at fatal values.

I will post these results from this testing here on this site, and room size, setup, etc... if there is interest, which I assume there will be?

yup your right, they used to use coal gas which had a lot of CO. but apparently if you cover the air input holes with foil the burning is incomplete. i dont know how true that is tho so dont take my word for it

I agree. Kurt Cobain had 2 uncles who also committed suicide.

This is my preferred method, tent with BBQ. I know everything I need including the type of tent, just not sure about the right kind of charcoal (in UK).

I guess that is the critical component.

This was my method before SN. Recently read the A&E report from that day, said that it wasn't a 'real attempt' because one BBQ wouldn't work. I didn't tell her that I had 2. I guess she might have done more research than me but I very much doubt it. I wonder why they bother printing the warnings all over them if they don't actually work?!

You need to read through the thread on here specifically devoted to this method. It really will answer every question. I have thoroughly researched this method, but for me it has proven too difficult to execute, as I don't live alone. I have found that the ideal circumstances may never happen.

I am intending to CTB with this method this week. As long as the rain holds off. I intend to drive my car to somewhere very remote, I have an estate car and I am going to put a tent in the back. ( tried it and there is enough room).

What if you ran a hose from something like a vacuum cleaner from your cars exhaust to the window? There was a guy from a lifetime movie that apparently did this in actuality.
