I don't think they have socialism in Switzerland...
They will consider it but it depends on their view of you being financially in need.
If it's a non profit that's alot of money to process a death / doctors/ prescription
It's $5000 for the evaluation. You don't need to pay the other $5000 unless they complete the assisted suicide. Still a lot of money, I know. I truly believe it's worth it. Too many suicides go horribly wrong with the DIY method.I wish dignitas will just take the $10,000 and do it without any questions. But they will take your money with uncertain of green light.

They are not legally allowed to make a profit from it. The money they take covers their expenses. They are non-profit.That's awful. It's always about money
Yes. I'm sure each application has to go through a bunch of doctors and lawyers, plus there's the cost of the land and facility, government permits, high business taxes, etc. They are not legally allowed to make a profit from it. The money they take covers their expenses. They are non-profit.

You're naive If you dont think they're profiting. All of sudden the man who runs the organization has a large taxable sum of moneyThey have a breakdown of costs on their website. Some of the costs are just travel or hotel, plus paying multiple doctors out of pocket, legal costs for the organization, etc
Non profits can still pay the large salaries lol. They are not legally allowed to make a profit from it. The money they take covers their expenses. They are non-profit.
There are a number of interests keeping a tight watchful eye on Dignitas, just waiting for them to do something that could maybe be construed into making a profit to get them into legal trouble. If they wanted to make a profit, they would do something where they aren't constantly being watched like a hawk by people who can bring a world of hurt on them at the drop of a coin. You're naive If you dont think they're profiting. Lol so you don't think the man running it is making a hefty sum in the form of a salary from it?There are a number of interests keeping a tight watchful eye on Dignitas, just waiting for them to do something that could maybe be construed into making a profit to get them into legal trouble. Look at the wounded warriors foundation for example
YepOr the Susan G. Komen breast cancer charity. "Only 21% of the money raised goes towards a cure. In 2012, Komen Founder/CEO Nancy Brinker was paid $684,717, a 64% increase from her $417,000 salary in 2011. And this was after a big drop in donations and half their 3-Day races were canceled."
Ludwig Minelli makes a salary of 150,000 Swiss francs, which is slightly under the average salary for a lawyer in Switzerland. He could very easily take a much easier, much more secure lawyer job where he isn't constantly under fire and make a substantially higher salary.Lol so you don't think the man running it is making a hefty sum in the form of a salary from it?
That's alot of money. 10k is over the top. They even keep money if you are denied.Ludwig Minelli makes a salary of 150,000 Swiss francs, which is slightly under the average salary for a lawyer in Switzerland. I disagree, I think it's reasonable. I think it makes sense that a lawyer doing such an unusually difficult job should be paid something close to market rate. I guess we can agree to disagree. That's alot of money. 10k is over the top. They even keep money if you are denied.
