Regardless off your thoughts on the death penalty, it looks like the death penalty cocktail is ironically the most peaceful way to go out, take away the fact that the person wants to live but is usually guilty of an egregious crime, in the 50's we just hung or shot or electrocuted criminals, now the cocktail they get, even if they are not happy to go, sounds like the most peaceful humane cocktail, WHY IS THERE A FUCKING ARGUMENT?

Currently in the US:
  1. Sodium thiopental or pentobarbital(aka N):[28] ultra-short-action barbiturate, an anesthetic agent used at a high dose that renders the person unconscious in less than 30 seconds. Depression of respiratory activity is one of the characteristic actions of this drug.[29] Consequently, the lethal-injection doses, as described in the Sodium Thiopental section below, will—even in the absence of the following two drugs—cause death due to lack of breathing, as happens with overdoses of opioids.
  2. Pancuronium bromide: non-depolarizing muscle relaxant, which causes complete, fast, and sustained paralysis of the striated skeletal muscles, including the diaphragm and the rest of the respiratory muscles; this would eventually cause death by asphyxiation.
  3. Potassium chloride: a potassium salt, which increases the blood and cardiac concentration of potassium to stop the heart via an abnormal heartbeat and thus cause death by cardiac arrest.
Feel free to add thoughts of death penalty or cocktail, but all i know is some of us out there would give anything to be administered this, and not have to go through what we do, the whole thing and the world is so messed up, i dont even know how to think anymore.

The cocktail? Fantastic. I WISH I could get my hands on that for myself.

The death penalty? I'm not a fan for one simple reason. I don't trust our government with that sort of power. There have been too many instances of people being exonerated, innocent people spending decades on death row only to be found not guilty later. It makes me wonder how many innocent people have already been put to death. Just 1 is too many.

* Death row inmates gets the most peaceful way of dying.
* Dogs and cats doesn't have to pay euthanasia bill.
* Active voluntary euthanasia is being prohibited in hundreds of countries, while passive involuntary euthanasia is silently being done as common thing especially for the poor that can't pay.

The society is wrong again, suicide prevention is really wrong about suicide, but I think this important matter is burried under hotline and posters campaign.

It's a good way to go, as long as it's not a botched execution! I've heard horror stories of it going badly wrong causing a lot of suffering. A number of inmates even had 3 botched execution attempts and we're pardoned. But otherwise it seems a reasonable way to go. Why not just stick to nembutal if it works though?

Botched executions: my understanding (could be totally wrong of course) is that people with good medical skills (real doctors, nurses, phlebotomists etc, who really know how to do IVs properly) generally won't participate in executions, hence execution teams have to use people with "hackjob" skills instead.

Precisely why it was abolished in the UK. People are wrongfully convicted all the time.

Normal medical anaesthesia should do the same. Lately I was anaesthesised and it was really a good experience. Doktors have bent over me and declared that I will be narcotised now and then a Nurse said: "He woke up!" I did not relize anything of the one and a half past days. I could be killed during that time in numerous ways.

Did you really mean "one and a half past days"? You were under anaesthesia for a day and a half rather than just a few hours? What kind of surgery was that? I never heard of anyone being put under for that long, I thought the most complex and difficult surgeries last around 8 hours max.

An abscess in my neck was swollen that I could not breath. They put a hose through my mouth in my tracha what is only bearable when anaestesised. When the swelling did not subside after one and a half day they carried out a tracheotomy.
