I'm a fan if the wheel of time and one of my favorite quotes is "Death is lighter than a feather, duty heavier than a mountain." I wonder what my duty truly is. To pay for my mistakes by CTB or to stay and endure. The path of least resistance is to stay but does that mean its the easier choice? I'm not sure.
Unlike some of you, I love life or at least I loved life until all of it was taken from me in the worst way possible. I realize now having experienced this loss and reading a lot of your stories that I was sheltered and naive. I got to experience great love, the kind you only experience in stories. I was content. I felt unconditional love, belief, trust, and support from my partner and I know that that's not something everyone will get to experience and I am truly fortunate. But to have that taken away from you in the worst way possible... I don't know if it was worth it. I regret she loved me as I couldnt be the man she needed after all. Maybe I'll share the full story here sometime.
Going back to WOT another concept I like is the way they view life as a dream. The philosophical concept is that the mortal life is a dream then the soul returns to eternity before it is reincarnated again. The permanent state is in the void, the temporary one is in this life.
Life is a dream—that knows no shade.
Life is a dream—of pain and woe.
A dream from which—we pray to wake.
A dream from which—we wake and go.
Who would sleep—when the new dawn waits?
Who would sleep—when the sweet winds blow?
A dream must end—when the new day comes.
This dream from which—we wake and go.
