I am very interested in reading stories about famous people who comiied suicide. It pretty fascinates me.

I listened to one of her interviews years ago and was amazed by her personality, her ideas. I believe that she is a very special soul and wasn't really compatible with this world.

To me it's not surprising that even famous people would decide to ctb. Fame doesn't automatically make life worth living and take away suffering. Rest in peace all those who are gone.

I have the same fascination of celebs ctb, in my mind my own struggles feels justified when I hear about people who seem to have so much decide death is better. If I had the economic setting as lets say Avicii had I would try to use every penny to like get away or super-rehab but I believe he was in an impulse extremely bad state of mind and maybe psychotic going by his method..

It broke my heart when people made fun of those lyrics and of LP in general for being 'whiny', 'faggy' and 'teen angsty'. Although the lyrics were written in a slightly vague way so that people could relate, they clearly were based in Chester's numerous trauma and mental health issues. I have also appreciated the band representing positive masculinity - with no fear of being emotional or vulnerable.

I remember a early interview with the band about the Crawling video mentioning that a lot of LP fans have suffered sexual abuse, so the story in the Crawling music video has been written to connect with them. It's subtle, but pretty clear if you know anything on the topic. And that was in the early 00's before #MeToo and a public dialogue against rape and sexual abuse. Chester himself was a victim of child on child sexual abuse, so that may have had something to do with it...
One last thought: the 'crawling in my skin' part probably refers to drug withdrawal side-effect.

She didn't commit suicide.
She died from an accidental overdose of Nembutal and Chloral hydrate.
Neither drug was at fatal levels in her system, but both were above the recommended dosages and she died from a combined intoxication.
Similar to Heath Ledger, different drugs but similar circumstances of insomnia. Desperation to sleep when you can't is very underestimated.

Desmond Amofah, or Etika. He suffered from BPD, and had manic attacks that costed him most of the bonds he had with his friends and family members, and he got bullied in the internet because of it. His last video... Apologizing for everything over and over again, before jumping from a bridge into his death was really sad...

I understand his decision to end his life. I think It is a disaster and disgrace to make him have to go through committing suicide. I mean we as society not individuals. Who would want to be the doctor to end life of Rober Williams? How do go back home and say: I helped Robin Williams to die. Just think how hard It would be for him to get medically assisted suicide. To be a symbol and ask people to let you go.

Thanks, good article and I did not know about that. I guess it would be hard for a doctor to be in that position. Still it seems he was bound to die in a few years which would have been terrible. Great courage on his side to take the matter on his hands IMO.
