Venting I hate how the media portrays CTB

I enjoy reading news stories about CTB, don't judge me.

I fucking despise how the media portrays CTB, especially when people fail.

They talk in high graces about ''saving'' these people without a second thought. Is it really saving them? Most of the time, they'll just send them to a psych ward, especially in Canada with the limited mental health resources... I think it's fucking crazy people think that people don't have the right to die. They should be saved and it's awesome!!! Trust me guys!!!

It's impossible to even get resources here, short or long term. You're just fucked and your attempts to put a stop to it are put in inspiring stories if stopped.

I get it, the media wants to make it a wholesome story, but I fucking hate it.

Eh I see both sides of it, afterall sometimes the person was in the midst of an episode and is genuinely happy to be saved, even if it means going to a shitward after the fact.

On the other hand it is pretty ridiculous that the bright happy ending is just a bleak however many weeks long stay at a hellish psych ward where they treat you like garbage and somehow make you more suicidal than you were before lol

I've never really read any news articles about sewer slide before~ what I can tell you is that I greatly dislike how when people report others for it, sure, maybe they should because when someone does a dumb attempt, they do really need to go to the hospital to avoid dying in agony~ but on the other hand, it's like reporting someone for sewer slide is no joke. Like you think they just go to the hospital to get better, but you have no idea about the wards and all the lying there too~ >_< tall about being a hero :/
I really don't know what to do~ >_< thankfully, I've never been placed in that position yet (as some jobs I've taken have required me to be a mandated reporter), and I hope never to be~

I also see how some people are portrayed as symbols of suicide, Which makes me kinda uncomfortable. Personally, I wouldn't want to be used as a symbol for suicide awareness or to advocate for suicide prevention. It's can impose a narrative on someone who may not have agreed with it.

I understand, it's just so cruel and dreadful to me how there is no acceptance towards the right to die with the suffering and torture of existing seen as to force and prolong no matter what, all I want is to cease existing painlessly and never suffer ever again and I see so much cruelty in how I cannot just have the option for that as all I wish for is no more suffering. I find it so deeply undesirable to suffer in this cruel, futile existence and I'd just always prefer to not exist than be burdened with this existence I just always saw as a mistake in the first place.
