I really took a lot of solace in animals when I was a bit younger. I realized that it's because they don't judge, and they love you regardless of whatever traits or beliefs you might have. You feed them once, or give them a place to sleep, and they consider you their friend for life.

It's already a region that's fraught with political scandals (it has a very notable Hungarian diaspora from the time that Hungary owned it), so if you lose it once, you're definitely not getting it back.
