I really took a lot of solace in animals when I was a bit younger. I realized that it's because they don't judge, and they love you regardless of whatever traits or beliefs you might have. You feed them once, or give them a place to sleep, and they consider you their friend for life.
I guess I must have aspired to that somehow, because I'm extremely indifferent to people nowadays...

Usually, the cats keep her company, so she's happy. Havanese Bichons are one of the most intensely affectionate companion breeds, so they easily get depression and separation anxiety.
